Yes, I finally got myself a new gaming console. After purchasing Nintendo Wii couple months ago, last week I bought Microsoft XBox 360. Not the Elite version though, but the Core System one. At first I want to buy the Premium package which features a 20GB HDD, headset, 1 wireless controller, component and HDMI cable, new heatsink, and two original games (Viva Pinata and Forza 2). But the owner of the store said that I could get the same image quality as HD by using XBox 360’s HD component cable. And so that’s why I decided to buy the Core System instead.
The XBox 360 Core System itself sports a 20GB HDD, one wireless controller, one wired controller, AV cable, component cable, and HD component cable (yes, the seller gave me this $30 priced product as a bonus!). It costed me about $410 (sadly, XBox 360 is wayyyy too expensive in my country), but compared to Premium edition’ price (around $595), I think buying XBox 360 Core System was a much smarter decision.
Right now, I’m struggling to finish Blue Dragon (trailer). To be honest, this is the main reason why I choose XBox 360 over Playstation 3, apart from the fact that 95% of PS3 games are available on XBox 360 as well. Other games that I can’t wait to play are Halo 3, Gears of War, Two Worlds, Lost Odyssey, and Rockband.
Btw, the seller didn’t lie to me. The quality of the image produced by using component HD cable equals to HDMI cable. My advice, if you plan to buy XBox 360, get the Core System plus component HD cable. It’s way cheaper than either Premium or Elite version, but guarantee to give you the same result.
