Korean Gets Dell’s New Precision T3400 Workstation

Dell updated its product portfolio with the new “Precision T3400″ Workstation PC. Recently introduced in Korea market, the company claimed that T3400 could deliver a desktop workstation class performance and features in a mobile form factor design. Features include an Intel Bearlake x38 chipset, supports for Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, and dual PCIe X16 2.0 graphic engines. No words on pricing though.

Gateway FX8020 Workstation PC

Gateway presented a monster workstation PC, FX8020, which boasts a powerful Intel Q6600 (2.4GHz) quad-core processor. The price starts at $2,100 (base configuration) and what you’d find inside this expensive machine are a 2GB of DDR2 main memory, a 512MB Radeon X1950 graphics engine with CrossFire technology, a 500GB of hard drive. It also comes with Gigabit Ethernet support and pre-installed Windows Vista Home Premium Edition operating system. Not bad for a two thousand bucks computer.

Alienware MJ-12 8550i Workstation PC

Alienware’s new desktop PC, MJ-12 8550i, is your first choice when it comes to a powerful workstation computer. It is powered by an Intel Xeon 5300 Quad-Core processor which enables users to turbo boost their general purpose workstations with breakthrough advantages, including 4.5X more performance per watt than single-core Intel Xeon processors and 1.5X performance increase (SPECintRate) from Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5100 series on current workstation applications. To enhance users viewing experience, a 17-inch LCD display supported by an nVidia Quadro FX graphics engine (either 128MB Quadro FX 350, 512MB Quadro FX 4500, or 1GB Quadro FX 5500) is included. Furthermore, up to 16GB of RAM can be stacked to ensure the smooth and fast perfomance.

Other features include an optional Dual-Layer DVD burner with LightScribe technology, up to 750GB of SATA hard drive on each HD slot (there are 4 slots available, making a total possible storage of over 3TB), two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and various terminals. Asus XG Station For Laptop

Along with the innovative W5Fe laptop featuring Vista SideShow and both G1 and G2 gaming notebooks, Asus is going to show off the new XG Station at the upcoming CES 2007 trade show in Las Vegas next week. When connected to laptop using USB 2.0, this audio-visual workstation would display a cool graphics and audio-visual effects to users. Specs-wise, it is powered by a discrete graphics chipset and incorporated Dolby output sound technology.

Alienware MJ-12 7500I and MJ-127500a Workstation PC

Alienware, the maker of the cool-looking Area51 laptop series, recently presented their two new workstation PCs, powered by the extreme dual-core processor technology. The first one – MJ-12 7500i – comes with Intel-based Pentium D processor, while the other one – MJ-12 7500a – with the AMD-based Opteron processor. Both targeted at creative professional users.

These Alienware workstation PCs are equipped with nVidia nForce SLI x16-based motherboard and nVidia Quadro FX 4500 graphic card with SLI (Scalable Link Interface) support, up to 2TB of data storage using RAID 0 and 1 configuration, and embedded proprietary Alienware’s Liquid Cooling technology. This technology will enhance PC system cooling capacity, addressing the increased heat generated by the latest processors by consistently maintaining cooler temperatures even when operating at full power.

The Alienware MJ-12 7500i workstation PC is available with a starting price of $1,789, while the MJ-12 7500a Workstation PC starts at $1,599.
