Couple days ago, Sony Ericsson officially released the new Walkman series handset, W205. Measures 92 x 47 x 16.4mm and weighs 96 grams, this GSM cell phone features an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera module with 2.2x digital zoom and video recording capability, pre-installed Opera Mini web browser, FM radio with RDS and direct recording capability, multimedia player, Bluetooth, MMS, and voice recorder. Like other Walkman handsets, W205 also comes with a host of wonderful music features, including Walkman player supporting MP3 and AAC formats, playlist, Shuffle and Loop mode, album art, and TrackID that instantly identify the tunes and artist at a press of a button

According to Timo Maassmann, Sony Ericsson’s marketing business manager, “The W205 is perfect for those who love portable music but have never had the Walkman™ phone experience. The W205 is a stylish slider phone allowing you to enjoy your music wherever you are – whether it’s on the bus, at college or chilling in the park. You can also share more than music with the 1.3 megapixel camera. Capture the action in stills or video and send them to friends via MMS or via Bluetooth™. The multiple phonebook function is an added bonus – share your phone with your family but keep your contacts separate from theirs.”

Other features include a 1.8-inch display with 128 x 160 resolution and 65K colors, 5MB of internal memory with Memory Stick Micro (M2) media card slot (up to 2GB supported), and up to 9 hours of talk time (or 425 hours of standby time). Sony Ericsson W205 cell phone will be available very soon this year, followed by its variant, W205a, in the third quarter of 2009.

Finally, here’s the third new portable MP3 player from Sony, the Walkman B-Series (we’ve posted about the S-Series and E-Series yesterday). Marked as an entry-level Walkman, the device does come with all the good things found on its siblings, including easy file transfer, integrated FM radio tuner, voice recorder, and support for wide-range audio formats (no video, folks), such as WMA and MP3. It also has a stylish design with an exciting illuminator that pulses in time with the music when the bass button is pressed. Pretty cool.

Regarding battery life, B-Series Walkman can stand up to 16 hours of music. Currently, two models with diifferent capacity are available: the NWZ-B133F (1GB, $45) and NWZ-B135F (2GB, $60). The former comes in black, red, and blue; while the latter replaces the blue one with pink color.

Mentioned earlier, Sony is going to introduce three new Walkman series during IFA 2008 event — the S, E, and B-Series. We’ve posted about the S-Series Walkman before, so it’s time to get up, close, and personal with the the E-Series. Like its sibling, the E can play various media formats easily, thanks to its format-friendly platform. Users can easily play song from their personal music collection, music store downloads, and rights-managed video clips. It also supports DRM’ed WMV format, allowing rights-protected movies and video clips to be played. Users can listen to the music for up to 45 hours, or watch the movie for up to 8 hours straight.

Sony Walkman E-Series MP3 Player is currently available in two models — the NWZ-E436F and NWZ-E438F. The first has 4GB of storage and retailed for $100 with four different color options (black, red, pink, and blue). The latter comes with 8GB of storage and can be purchased for $140. Flavours include black, red, and pink.

Sony is preparing three new Walkman series for tomorrow’s IFA 2008 event — the S, E, and B series. Let’s talk about the S series first. At just 7.5mm thick, the player is loaded with a bunch of high-end, format-friendly features, including the ability to play music from different sources, a handy preinstalled Content Transfer software, and support for popular multimedia codecs, such as WMV (DRM), WAV, and obviously, MP3.

To make things even better, Sony loads the S-series Walkman with Sony’s SensMe Channels function which automatically creates channels that can align with a user’s preferences. Based on Sony’s SensMe Channels function, the S-series players analyze a user’s music collection and suggest channels based on each song’s speed, mood and rhythm. They create a choice of 11 themed channels from upbeat pop to emotional ballads. Pretty cool, isn’t it? FYI, S-series is the first MP3 player with this kind of unique feature.

Other features include an in-flight noise cancellation for convenient music playback during flight, a high-contrast 2-inch QVGA display, up to 40 hours of music playback, up to 10 hours of video playback, and personalizeable interface with up to 10 pre-installed wallpaper images (users can also use their own photo as a wallpaper if they want).

Sony Walkman S series MP3 player is currently available in two different capacity variants: the NWZ-S736F (4GB) and NWZ-S738F (8GB). Both available in black color with price respectively set at $150 and $180.

Sony Ericsson will extend the range of their Walkman series phone with the new W302 model. Also known as “Feng”, the handset features an integrated 2 megapixel camera, a 176×220 display, and an impressive audio system just like the rest of Walkman mobile phones. According to the company, W302 will be released to public on October 14th. And still according to the company, detailed specs for this model will be officially announced later.

Here are the new Walkman series MP3 player from Sony Korea, the “Walkman NWZ-A820 and “Walkman A720“. Available in three capacity variants (4GB, 8GB, and 16GB), these two DAPs boasts a 2.4-inch QVGA LCD display with LED backlight and support for AVC (H.264) and MPEG4 video format @ 30 fps. Measures 5.1 x 9.39 x 0.93cm and weighs 58 grams, both devices are bundled with Sony’s 13.5mm EX series earphone.

Sony Walkman NWZ-A820 comes in only two colors: black and white, while the NWZ-A720 MP3 player is available in four different flavours: black, white, pink, and gold.

Sony is going to unveil two new Walkman DAPs, the Walkman NW-A829 and NW-A828 models. Measures 50.2 x 93.6 x 9.3mm and weighs at just 59 grams, both players sport both audio (MP3, WMA, ATRAC Advanced Lossless, PCM, AAC, HE-AAC) and video (MPEG-4/H.264, AVC) playback and a handy built-in Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to stream the music to Bluetooth-ready audio accessories, such as wireless earphone and speaker. As for the battery, it lasts for up to 36 hours (music) and up to 10 hours of video playback.

No words on pricing at the moment, but Walkman NW-A829 will be priced higher since it comes with 16GB of storage, while NW-A828 only has 8GB of internal memory

Please welcome the new Walkman from Soyn Ericsson, W380. This music phone sports a unique clamshell design, along with several new features on Walkman range handsets, such as Gesture control — which allows you to mute calls simply by waving your hands and other useful tasks — and a sensitive external display — which automatically turn on whenever you need it (incl. upon incoming call and music playback). There’s also a handy TrackID feature which is able to figure out the title of the currently playing song, either from the phone’s build-in radio or other external source, as well as the artist. Other new Walkman cell phone, W890, also has this wonderful feature (I’ll post about that phone later).

Thanks to the new innovative Gesture Control function, W380 Walkman phone owners will be able to feel the real handsfree experiences. They’ll be able to do many tasks effortlessly, simply by moving their hands. From muting calls, snooze alarm, control music playback, etc. Combine with the provided one-touch buttons on the top of the phone, expect a wonderful multimedia experiences as well.

Sony Ericsson recently added new color variants to its low-end Walkman handset, W200i. Originally, the cell phone comes in Rhythm Black and Pulse White only. Now, there are Grey, Sweet Pink, Aquatic White and Mono Blue options as well. W200 itself is a music phone featuring built-in media player, FM radio tuner, VGA camera with 4x digital zoom and video recording capability, photo album, full HTML web browser, and more. It runs on tri-band GSM/GPRS network and can be used for up to 7 hours (talk time) before recharge.

Sony Ericsson has just confirmed the upcoming W999i cell phone. This new member of Walkman series handset sports a sleek and stylish design (as expected from the series), along with a QWERTY keypad layout, support for HSDPA (3.5G) connectivity, a 2.4-inch 262K colors display with QVGA resolution, an integrated 2 megapixel camera module with autofocus, and built-in FM radio tuner. Moreover, it has a thickness of 12.5mm.
