HTC Magic Now Available For Pre-Order

Vodafone has started taking pre-order for HTC Magic, the successor of HTC Dream a.k.a T-Mobile G1 Android (one of the first Google’s Android-powered handset). Scheduled to hit the store on May 5, you can get the phone for free if you take Vodafone’s £30 (or more) monthly plan. No other alternative purchase option at the moment, neither information regarding worldwide release. According to HTC’s website, Magic features a 528Mhz Qualcomm MSM7201a CPU, Google Adroid OS, a 512MB of ROM and 192MB of RAM, a 3.2-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display with 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution, HSDPA/WCDMA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE network, built-in GPS navigation, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFI, an integrated 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, microSD slot, digital compass, and media player. Measures 113 x 55 x 13.65mm and weighs 118.5 grams, it comes with a Li-Ion battery that provides up to 400 minuts of talktime and up to 660 hours of standby time.

[MWC 2008] Vodafone 227 and 228 Cell Phones

Vodafone announced its own-brand cell phones — Vodafone 227 and Vodafone 228 — during Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona, Spain. Both handsets feature a GSM dual-band connectivity, voice and text messaging, color display, vibrating alert, and and an earphone port. Yes, not much in there since those phones were designed to be highly affordable (read: cheap) and easy to use. One noticable difference between Vodafone 227 and 228 is the design. The first one has clamshell design and the latter with sliding mechanism.

Samsung Announces SGH-F700 Cell Phone For Vodafone

According to Samsung’s latest official announcement, Vodafone will be the lucky company to distribute Samsung’s masterpiece — SGH-F700 cell phone — to European market. First introduced during 3GSM World Congress 2007 event, the handset perfectly combines productivity, mobility, and communication needs. For example, its built-in HSDPA access (through Vodafone’s 3G broadband network) offers a high-speed data access (up to 3.6 Mbps) for browsing the internet, checking email, and downloading media content. The device also features a 3.2-inch 256K colors display which make your photo, taken from F700’s 3MP camera module, looks like real.

Samsung SGH-F700 cell phone has also received iF Communication Design Award 2007 for its new user interface named “Croix”. Stands for “cross” (French), the UI incorporates analogue cross concept everywhere across all applications.

Vodafone Releases Sharp 705SH Cell Phone

Vodafone has released the Sharp 705CH cell phone. This slim clamshell phone, comes in three color variants (Champagne Gold, Royal Black, Silky Pink), features a 2.2-inch (240×320) 262K colors Mobile AV LCD display with wide-angle viewing capability, 2 megapixel camera module, and a microSD memory card slot. This handset also provides Face Recognition function that secures the cell phone by verifying the facial characteristics of the owner.

Vodafone Will Release Samsung SGH-ZV50 Cell Phone

Vodafone will soon release the SGH-ZV50 cell phone from Samsung. This phone will support the 1.4 Mbit/s HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) service that is announced by Vodafone earlier this year. Comes with a design similar to the v7400 phone, the ZV50 flip-phone offers a 262K colors LCD display, 40MB of internal memory with microSD card slot for extra storage, 2 megapixel camera module, and supposedly, integrated MP3 player.

High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is a new mobile telephony protocol and is sometimes referred to as a 3.5G (or “3½G”) technology. In this respect it extends WCDMA in the same way that EV-DO extends CDMA2000. HSDPA provides a smooth evolutionary path for Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) networks allowing for higher data capacity (up to 14.4 Mbps in the downlink). It is an evolution of the W-CDMA standard, designed to increase the available data rate by a factor of 5 or more. HSDPA defines a new W-CDMA channel, the high-speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) that operates in a different way from existing W-CDMA channels, but is only used for downlink communication to the mobile. Samsung’s SGH-ZV50 cell phone will be available exclusively in Vodafone. They don’t mention the exact date, but I assume the “very soon” means late May or early June.

SpaceOut to Offer Jinsai VGA Game For 904SH Cell Phone

SpaceOut, a Japanese game company, has developed a VGA version of its Jinsai mobile game. Since Vodafone’s 904SH is the only cell phone in Japan that comes with a VGA (640×480) LCD screen, then be happy 904SH users. Jinsai VGA version is also the first mobile game that supports VGA resolution. The game itself is a Sims-lookalike where you can socialize with other characters, build your personality, etc. Your character can also evolves and ages, which make this game is quite real and fun to play.

Will a VGA phone game replace the portable gaming console in the future? Well, who knows…

Vodafone V604T – The DMB Phone from Japan

Vodafone recently released the V604T cell phone from Toshiba in Japan. This phone comes with a DMB receiver (which is called Wasegu in Japan) and it’s one of a few DMB phone there. This cell phone is packed with an analog and digital TV tuner, 1.3 megapixel camera module, and a MiniSD port. It measures 50 x 103 x 25 mm and weighs 145 grams.

Vodafone Present 904SH Cell Phone With Face Recognition

Vodafone has recently announced the release of the 904SH, the cell phone that incorporates OKI Face Recognition Sensor for, of course, face recognition. This 3G and GSM phone also comes with a Motion Sensor, a mobile device technology that is (probably) going to be a hit on near future. With it, you can control your phone or play a game simply by moving your phone around. Pretty neat, isn’t it?

The Vodafone 904SH cell phone itself features a 2.4-inch VGA (640×480) LCD screen, 3.2 megapixel camera module with AutoFocus capability, 3D Surround, and MiniSD card slot. It is also equipped with Bluetooth support and a clone of Java Messenger.

Vodafone 904T Cell Phone By Toshiba

The Vodafone’s 904T by Toshiba is the successor of the previous 903T model. This cell phone sports a multifunction “grip style” design that allows the main display to be rotated 180 degrees and let the users to use the display as a large camera viewfinder while the handset is closed. This design would also useful for checking messages, surfing the web, or viewing maps on Vodafone live! NAVI, a GPS service from Vodafone.

Vodafone 904T cell phone is equipped with 3.2 megapixel camera module. Told you we’re going to give more detail about this new cell phone, and here it is. First, the “Limit Mode”. Our previous prediction almost correct about this one – it lets customers set up individual usage rules, which allows them to control outgoing and incoming voice call numbers, when calls are made and usage volume (total call times), making the cell phone suitable for children.

The “Simple Mode 3″ is missing from our early post. This system makes the cell phone easy to use for a wide range of customers, including beginners and the elderly. For example, when activated, you would get a larger font size on the phone display. Another stuff that we’ve missed is the availability of the 1.3 megapixel camera module.
