Tom Tom GO 910 GPS Review

PocketInfo has posted a review of the recently released Tom Tom GO 910 GPS. This portable navigation device, powered by SiRFStar III chipset, offers an integrated MP3 player, 20GB of HDD, 4.0-inch 64K colors WQVGA LCD screen, 400MHz processor, 64MB of RAM, and 4 hours of operation. Measures 112 x 81 x 66 mm and weighs 340 grams, GO 910 features a multi-continental map coverage including the whole of Europe, the USA and Canada. It is retailed for $893 US.

TomTom GO 910 GPS Release In US

As I’ve previously mentioned, TomTom is going to release their GO 910 GPS device on April. Well, it’s a little bit late from the early schedule (April 1st), but the portable navigation system is finally arrive in US. It can be found on several Best Buy and Circuit City locations across the country and soon will be available in Europe too. Not sure about the retail price though.

TomTom GO 910 GPS comes with an integrated MP3 player and 20GB of HDD to store both your map data and audio files. Like many other GPS device, this one is also powered by the SiRFStar III GPS chipset which is able to provides both high accuracy and superior perfomance. Measures 112 x 81 x 66 mm and weighs 340 grams, the GO 910 navigation system is equipped with a large 4.0-inch (480×272) widescreen 64K colors WQVGA LCD screen, a 400MHz processor, and 64MB of RAM. Furthermore, its Lithium-Ion battery will provide up to 4 hours of operation.

TomTom New GPS Devices With 4-Inch Display

TomTom, the famous portable navigation device maker, have recently added three new models to their GO GPS series – the 910, 710, and 510. All of them features a large 4-inch widescreen touchscreen display, which are the world’s first (or maybe three of the first) in portable navigation market. The GO 910 model is also the first GPS device that features multi-continental map coverage including the whole of Europe, the USA and Canada. Furthermore, they all come with an integrated media player, that can accompany you on your travel with the MP3 player, audiobooks, podcasts, and text-to-speech functionality.

These TomTom GO new GPS devices will be available on April 1st (hope it’s not an April Joke), and will include the HOME dock that would let users to connect to TomTom HOME through their PC. Optionally, users can purchase an RDS/TMC Traffic Receiver to receive free ongoing traffic information via radio signals.

TomTom Rider – Motorcycle GPS

TomTom has recently presented the world’s first navigation solution for motorcycle’s (and scooters’) drivers, the TomTom Rider. Sounds like that sexy Lara Croft alias name, doesn’t it? Anyway, this GPS navigation device boasts detailed street level maps for the entire U.S. and provides real-time access to traffic and weather information via wireless Bluetooth technology to help riders get to their destination.

Like many others GPS units, the TomTom Rider also comes with Integrated GPS receiver based on SiRF Star III (with 20 Channel All-in-view tracking). Others GPS that use this chip include Mio A201 GPS PDA, Asus A636 PocketPC GPS, and Pharos Traveler GPS 505. It has a tough weather-proof case that fixes easily to any motorbike or scooter.

Other features of TomTom Rider GPS are the simple and easy-to-use touch screen that works even when the drivers were using gloves. It also has an anti-glare screen and integrated sun-visor that ensures the best view of the screen possible. The Lithium-ion battery provides 5 hours of lifetime.
