Toshiba has just unveiled the new 14.1-inch Tecra R10 laptop, featuring a thin-and-light design with the powerful Intel Centrino 2 technology. At just 1.13-inch thick and 4.4 pounds weighs, the notebook features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 128MB nVidia Quadro NVS 150M graphics engine, a 1280×800 widescreen display with LED backlight, an integrated webcam module, an Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100AGN wireless module, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and two USB ports. Moreover, it is equipped with an additional USB/eSATA combo port with “Sleep and Charge” function, PC Card and ExpressCard slots, a 6-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, DVI-D, and VGA outputs. The company also aware of the user’s data as they include a fingerprint reader and Trusted Platform Module 1.2 for enhanced security, along with Intel vPro technology for easier IT Management and standard 6-cell battery unit that provides up to 5.48 hours of usage.

The first model on this series, Tecra R10-S4401 laptop, contains 2.26Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo SP9300 CPU, a 3GB of DDR2 main memory, a 160GB of hard drive, and a DVD burner. It runs on Windows Vista Business OS and retailed for $1,549.

Along with Satellite Pro S300, Toshiba also unveils two new member of Tecra-series laptops, Tecra M10 and A10. The former comes with a 14.1-inch, while the latter has 15.4-inch display. The rest of the features are exactly the same as S300, except that both machines are powered by more advanced Centrino 2 vPro processor. Price starts from 880€ ($1,390) if interested.

Toshiba Tecra M8 is a Santa Rosa-based laptop featuring a 13.3-inch LCD display, a 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 120GB of hard drive, and a 1GB of main memory. As expected from the new notebook PC platform, this machine also sports support for 802.11n WiFI connectivity, an integrated Intel GMA X3100 graphics engine, and Intel Turbo Memory Cache that fasten the whole computer’s performance. Weighs 4.5 pounds, the laptop is equipped with an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam module and pre-installed Windows Vista Business Ediiton OS as well.

Toshiba’s Tecra M8 lappy is available for $1,399.

Toshiba recently unveiled Tecra M5-S433, the company’s new flagship business laptop. Powered by Windows Vista Business OS, the machine features a 14.1-inch (1400×1050) LCD display supported by 128MB nVidia Quadro NVS 110M graphics card with up to 128MB of additional shared memory provided by nVidia TurboCache technology, an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz) processor, a 2GB of DDR2 main memory, and a 120GB of 5,400rpm SATA hard drive. It also iincludes a swappable Slim SelectBay drive which allows users to switch out the standard DVD-SuperMulti writer for a second hard drive to expand data storage. Regarding connectivity, the laptop comes with 802.11a/b/g WiFI, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, and 56K modem support.

Other features include three USB ports, PCMCIA – Type I/II Card slot, an ExpressCard slot, a SD card slot, VGA and S-Video out, Firewire, serial port, docking connector, and fingerprint reader.

Weighs 5.23lbs (including 6-cell Li-Ion battery), Tecra M5-S4333 laptop is currently retailed for $1,899 at ToshibaDirect store.

Measures 348 x 260 x 39.9 mm and weighs 2.79 kg, Toshiba’s Tecra M7 Tablet PC is also equipped with TV-out / S-Video interface, IEEE 1394 port, external microphone and headphone interfaces, 6-in-1 media card reader (SD, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMedia Card, xD-Picture card, and SD IO), and four USB 2.0 ports. Its lithium-ion battery provides up to 3 hours of continous usage. No words on price and availability yet.

Along with the Portege M500, Toshiba also presents the 14.1-inch Tecra M5 laptop. The notebook, targetted at high-end businessmen, sports an Intel Core Duo T2400 (1.83GHz / 2MB) processor, nVidia Quadro graphics card, and SXGA+ display. Like the new Portege, M5 laptop also comes with Toshiba 200 candela CSV (Clear Super View) display technology. Other features include the company’s exclusive EasyGuard Technology that secures critical components and data.

Measures 11.8 x 8.86 x 1.34 inch and weighs 4.1 lbs, Tecra M6 laptop also features Toshiba’s exclusive EasyGuard Technology that includes Shock Absorbing Design, HDD Protection, and a Spill Resistant Keyboard, Trusted Platform Module, Biometric Fingerprint reader and Toshiba Security Assist Console. In this crop of conservatively designed notebooks, the 5.5-pound Toshiba Tecra A6 comes the closest to sexy. The glossy silver-metallic-flake paint job would look just as at home on an Audi, and we love the 14.1-inch widescreen panel. The Tecra doesn’t have a wireless broadband option, and performance and battery life were on the low side for this group. At only $1,149 (as tested), you get a lot for your money.
