Looking for an antivirus software for your S60-based mobile devices? Here’s one of the best, F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus. Currently, there are three versions available, one for S60 1st Edition (Nokia 3650, 3660, 7650, etc), another one for S60 2nd Edition (Nokia 6600, 6630, 6680, N70, N90, etc), and the last one for S60 3rd Edition (Nokia N71, N80, E60, E61, E70, etc). Download the correct version and secure your phones right away.

F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus(TM) is easy to use and does not require excess device resources or unnecessary user interaction. It automatically scans all files in the background, both in the device and on the memory cards. When an infected file is detected it is immediately quarantined to protect all other data in the system. The antivirus database is updated invisibly in the background when a data connection is used for emails, web browsing etc.

Nokia reported that its N3250 cell phone has reached one million sales in less than four months since it entered the market in March 2006. Well, no wonder. I do own this music phone myself and I really love it. I love its high-quality sound. I love its 2 megapixel camera. And most of all, I love its unique and stylish twist design. If Sony Ericsson’s addict music lovers choose the Walkman phone series, I believe Nokia fans would go for the 3250.

The Nokia 3250 cell phone features a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900) network support, a 2 megapixel camera module, up to 1Gb of storage with microSD card support, integrated music player with support to MP3 and eAAC+ audio formats and playlist capability, Bluetooth connectivity, and 10 hours of music playback. The handset is based on S60 3rd Edition and Symbian OS, so it can also run a wide-range of applications.

This software will provide comprehensive mobile security solutions that are designed to protect against and prevent mobile threats and vulnerabilities. However, it is currently being available only for Cingular Wireless customers. Those lucky mobile device users can download the anti-virus to their Symbian Series 60, Microsoft Windows Mobile Pocket PC or SmartPhone wireless devices. Not for free though. A one-year subscribtion from McAfee through Cingular’s MediaNet Web portal is offered for $29.99. Up-to-date protection is delivered as soon as threats are identified through McAfee’s leading research organization, AVERT (Anti-Virus Emergency Response Team).

According to the company, they will soon introduce McAfee Firewall Mobile, which provides protection against hackers and data-stealing applications, monitoring both inbound and outbound communication for malicious behavior, in the second quarter of 2006.

The Commwarrior.C is capable of spreading over Bluetooth, MMS and MMC cards that are inserted into an infected phone. Upon infection, it tries to change the operator logo to it’s own. According to F-Secure, they have observed this on Nokia 6600, where the virus changed the logo to “Infected by Commwarrior”.

But since this kind of virus is using Bluetooth, you can always protect yourself by not accepting unknown files via Bluetooth.
