Aiming to help newbie gets into the world of DSLR, Samsung released WB500, a point-and-shoot DSLR camera, featuring a 10 megapixel camera with a 24mm wide angle lens, a 10x optical zoom, and image stabilizer function. Measures 10.5 x 6.14 x 3.65 cm and weighs 219 grams, the camera also supports H.264 720p video recording. If interested, WB500 DSLR camera is retailed for 398,000 Won or around €225 (US $290).

Sony is going to release the new α300 DSLR camera on July 17th. This 10.2 megapixel DSLR sports a 2.7-inch movable LCD display, a shutter speed of 30 – 1/4000 sec, an anti-dust system that keeps the CCD image sensor clean and clear, and the Quick AF Live View function. It incorporates the company’s proprietary BIONZ processing engine as well as Super SteadyShot image stabilization technology that enables shutter speeds 2.5 to 3.5 steps slower than otherwise possible.

Other features include an ISO sensitivity up to ISO3200 and MSDuo Pro/CF memory card slot.

“K200D” is the new 10.2 megapixel DSLR camera from Pentax. It sports an up to 1600 ISO, image stabilizer function, and a large 2.7-inch widescreen LCD. It comes with the company’s proprietary Shake Reduction mechanism, which reduces camera shake for sharp, blur-free images even under demanding shooting conditions, such as shooting with a telephoto lens, shooting in low light conditions or at night without supplementary flash illumination, or using extended exposures for sunset scenes. There’s also an Auto Picture mode that automatically sets the most appropriate shooting mode (such as Portrait, Landscape and Macro) for a given subject or situation, as well as the new Custom Image function — lets the user select one of the six modes and adjust an image’s processing to their preference by automatically adjusting tone, saturation, contrast, and sharpness — and a user-friendly Dust Removal system — prevent dust from sticking to the surface of the CMOS image sensor (or low-pass filter).

As reported earlier, Fujifilm is planned to release FinePix S5 Pro, its new DSLR. Well, the company currently displays this wonderful camera at Photo Imagine Expo 2007 event in Japan. It features a 12.34MP sensor, a 2.5-inch LCD, and up to ISO3200 exposure. Since I’ve already posted all the known detail, just enjoy two more pics of the camera this time.

Olympus announces two new D-SLR cameras under EVOLT range, the EVOLT E-510 and E-410 models. Both professional digicams offer 10 megapixel LiveMOS sensor and TruePic III image processor for enhanced image quality. No words on detail specs, except that the E-510 model will have an additional image stabilizer function and support for both CF and xD media cards. Price and availability are still a mistery either.

Canon has just released its new professional D-SLR flagship, the EOS-1D Mark III. Claimed as the world’s fastest camera, with a 10fps burst rate, this D-SLR is able to capture 100 megapixels of data in just one second. Furthermore, it is equipped with a 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor which is APS-D sized, along with the widest ISO range, from ISO 50 to ISO 6400. Other features include a 3.0-inches colors LCD display, up to 10x optical zoom, a new dust management, and an additional 26 AF assist points to aid AF tracking for improved accuracy.

Canon EOS-1D Mark III D-SLR camera will hit the store in April with a price tag of around $4,000. For more detail, check out the press release on the next page.

FujiFilm has just released IS-1, an impressive DSLR with infrared photography support, supposedly the world’s first. This kind of digicam is usually used in the medical field or by the police. If you’ve ever played Condemned: Criminal Original game in PC or XBOX 360, I believe you understand the usage of the infrared camera. As for the IS-1, it comes with a 9 megapixel SuperCCD and support for ISO 80 to 1600.

No further info about FujiFilm IS-1 DSLR camera at the moment.

FujiFilm is going to release its latest D-SLR camera, the FinePix S5 PRO, in Japan starting from January next year. Weighs 830 grams, the digital camera features a 12.34-megapixel Super CCD HoneyCom SR (S 6.17MP + R 6.17MP) sensor, a 2.5-inch colors LCD display, up to 4256 x 2848 resolution, and up to ISO3200 exposure. There’s a CF card slot for external storage options, however, I’m not sure about the onboard memory included. No words on pricing either.

Pentax K10D D-SLR camera, through Pentax’s Korean retailer Donwon Systems, has been released in Korea market. This 10.2MP premium digital SLR camera offers various impressive functionalities and innovations. To begin with, it comes with an enhanced CCD and SR mechanism which is designed to minimize camera shake by oscilating the CCD image sensor vertically and horizontally at high speed using magnetic force, while adjusting the speed of oscillation in proportion to the amount of camera shake detected by built-in sensors.

Another highlighted feature is the new DR (Dust Removal) system, backed up by Pentax’s Special Protect (SP) coating, that protect the CCD surface from dust. The digicam also incorporated a shift mechanism to clear the CCD from the dirty dust. Furthermore, the Shake Reduction (SR) system is claimed to effectively offer a 2.5 to 4 stop advantage for sharp, blur-free images even under difficult shooting conditions.
