And I’m one of the person who will be having difficulty in accessing the internet, at least, in the next 2 weeks (CNN estimation). I may still be able to access this site, however, I’ve tried to access my news sources, and most of them can’t be accessed. So, please pardon for the less update in the near future.

Yup, I’ll be going for a holiday until around October 27th or 28th. As usual, I’ll visit my other family members in Jogjakarta. But don’t worry, I have prepared some articles for the next few days, so you will still receive cool gadgets and computer news until I arrive back home. I’ll also try to update the web from Jogja, let’s just hope I can find any (free) WiFI hotspot there.

See you on Friday, guys.

If not, be sure to check it out since I regularly browse the web and collect all World Cup-related software I found there and give you a direct link to download and try it right away. Some of them are:

World Cup 2006 Tournament Calendar

Streaming Stats World Cup Edition v1.0

FIFA World Cup 2006 Manager 2006 1.2

Anyway, today I spent my time digging Apple’s website and found these three worthy World Cup-related stuff for you. The first is the Match Schedule Widget for the Mac OS X Dashboard. With this super handy widget, you won’t miss a single match on the World Cup. The second (and also the third) are a very cool Icon Set with the spirit of World Cup. Head to the World Cup 2006 Software Download page to collect them all.

Oh, and I also found this from my friend’s site. Now that’s cool! Anyone have any information about it?

The Computex 2006 fever is not just happened on Funponsel, but also on our sister site that focuses on daily MP3P and PMP news, MP3Magz. Of course, like the MSI Crystal 945 LCD PC or BenQ DMP300 ViiV -Ready Media Player, there are many interesting portable media player at the show.

Let’s take the star-shaped StarFish MP3 Player from ABO for an example. Eventhough it’s quite small – has a diametre of the length of AA battery – it still managed to carry an integrated microphone, so it’s not just a boring MP3/WMA audio player, but double as a voice recorder as well. It can even hold a flash memory up to 1GB.

Found at Micronet’s booth is a MP3 player in a shape of photo frame. Okay, not. Actually, it’s a digital photo frame with an integrated MP3 player inside. I don’t know whether the company forgot to put the name of this product on the tag or they just don’t have a name for it yet. The photo frame-MP3 player combo itself offers a standard MP3 playback, memory card slot, large 7-inch colors LCD, and a TV-out connector.

Sixties people can bring back their memories with the retro-style Espressic Mini 8000 FM Radio from Kobian. Of course, today is the 20th century, and so, no FM radio left without a built-in MP3 player, including this one. Other features like SD card support, USB connector, and sound recording are included as well.

Last but not least, make sure you check out this cool ball-shaped FootBall MP3 Player which is made to celebrate the current World Cup 2006 event. Like the StarFish above, this player supports MP3/WMA and has up to 1GB of onboard memory. A USB port is available as well. However, it seems that it doesn’t have much room left on the inside and so unable to pack some extra stuff such as integrated microphone and FM radio tuner. But I’m sure you don’t expect much from a singing ball, do you?

Visit MP3Magz for more daily MP3 Player and PMP news.

There are some interesting news found at our sister site, MP3Magz, in the last few days. For example, the SS100 Digital Audio Player from Safa. Eventhough its front panel is different from iPod, but it has almost similar shape and size to iPod, so when you lay both of ‘em down, you probably won’t notice the different. I won’t recommend this portable player at all since it only supports MP3, AVI, JPEG, and TXT formats. Heck, I’m sure smart people like you don’t even need my recommendation to leave the SS100.

The second MP3 player on the highlight is MSI’s P610. Nothing quite special from this HDD-based portable MP3 player, except, at a glance, it looks like a cell phone! Some even said that it steal the design of Sony Ericsson T610 phone (notice the similar model number?). What do you think?

On the other hand, Kingston, the famous memory-related product manufacturer, surprised me with its decision to join the portable digital media player wagon. Its first debut is the K-Plex Portable Media Player that looks like a PSP. For a starter, it does have a nice promising features, such as 2-inch colors LCD, wide-range media formats support (ASF, MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, WMA DRM, AVI, MPEG 1/2/4, WMV, JPEG, TXT), MiniSD card slot, and voice recording. Kingston will start the battle on August this year.

Couple days ago, I (silently) started the pre-launch of the Funponsel sister site, the MP3 Magazines (or MP3Magz). You can find out more about this new site here. What I want to tell you now is that I’m currently running a pre-lauch contest for MP3Magz during the month of June! And since the site is mainly focus on MP3 player news, the prizes are also related to MP3 players. As a hint, I planned to give away up to 10 digital audio players. Right now, there are 3 players that already announced as the prize – iPod Shuffle, Creative Nomad Muvo, and Creative Zen Nano.

The contest is open worldwide. For more information about the rule, read here. Basically, all you have to do is place a link to MP3Magz on your site and then leave comments on any MP3Magz’s articles. Simple, isn’t it? So why don’t you check the rule immediately and join the contest.

Have fun with the contest, guys!
