With the popularity of Samsung’s 8MP camera phone (Innov8 and Pixxon), as well as Sony Ericsson’s C905 phone, more handset companies start working on this higher-resolution camera phone. Sharp for example. Just recently, they unleased the new Sharp SH001 cell phone which boasts an 8.1-megapixel camera module with AF, face recognition function, and ISO up to 2500. Measures 48 x 11 x 16.6mm and weighs 124 grams, it also features a mobile ASV WVGA display, support for LISMO and VOD AOD services, E-Wallet, and improved call quality, thanks to its noise cancellation and clear voice functions.

According to many reviews on the web, only a few 8MP camera phone give proper high-quality photo result as expected. So, if you want to buy one, make sure the one you’re going to purchase really worth the money…

Sharp and DoCoMo have just unveiled another new cell phone modeled SH-01A. As one of DoCoMo Winter Collection series, the handset sports an eight megapixel camera module with 28mm wide-angle and face detection function, a 3.3-inch VGA ASV AQUOS display with rotating screen and 16:9 aspect ratio, a built-in 1Seg TV tuner, Bluetooth with A2DP, GPS, HSDPA, and Virtual 5.1ch Dolby Mobile sound engine. It measures 111 x 50 x 15.6mm and weighs 145 grams. No words on pricing though.

Sharp unveils the new Pantone 830SH cell phone in Japan. Available through SoftBank, this HSDPA-ready clamshell handset features a 2.4-inch display with 240×320 resolution, an integrated 2 megapixel camera with auto focus, 3G support, a secondary display, and microSDHC media card slot (up to 4GB supported). It supposed to come with built-in web browser, media player, and video telephony function as well.

Measures 49 x 97 x 17.6mm and weighs 105 grams, Pantone 830SH will hit the store on October 4th. 15 (yes, FIFTEEN) bright color options will be available — mint blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, red, vivid pink, purple, lilac, navy, white, black, silver, gold, and pink gold. Enough to cover everyone’s favourite color. So tell me, what’s your flavour?

Sharp will ship two new AQUOS LCD TVs to the market, the 20-inch LCD-20E5 and 16-inch LC-16E5, on September 10th. Both TVs feature a resolution of 1366 x 768, a contrast ratio of 1,200:1, a brightness of 450cd/m2, a viewing angle of 176°, a built-in BS110℃S digital TV tuner, and a host of interfaces (RGB/HDMI/D4/S-Video). Price is respectively set at €560 (about $857) and €500 (about $765).

Want to learn foreign language? Sharp provides you with the right tool for that purpose — the Brain series e-dictionary (product code: PW-AC880 and PW-AC830). Hitting the store starting from August 18th, the device offers a 5-inch touchscreen HVGA LCD screen (480×320), a 100MB of onboard storage with SD card slot, a Text-To-Speech function for learning how to spell, earphone jack, USB interface, and a lithium battery that provides up to 80 hours of usage. The cool thing, you can also download extra content such as additional dictionary and picture books.

Sharp Brain-Series Electronic Dictionary is currently available in five different flavours: silver, black, red, white, and blue.

Sharp is going to release its new camera phone, 923SH, on July 5th in Japan. The phone will be available through Softbank, but no words on pricing just yet. Measures 50 x 113 x 18.6mm and weighs 135 grams, it boasts a 3.3-inch (480×845) AQUOS swiveling LCD display, a 5.2 megapixel camera module with auto focus and stabilizer, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation capabilities, global roaming, and 1-Seg support. Not bad.

Do you want a UMPC? Well, I do. I already own Eee PC from Asus, but having smaller, more compact computing device with internet browsing capability would be nice. For example, this brand new Willcom D4 from Sharp. Displayed at Computex 2008 event in Taipei, the slide-n-tilt UMPC is powered by Intel Atom processor and Windows Vista Home Premium (incl. SP1) operating system, which is a nice combination. Thanks to its built-in 1Seg TV tuner, D4 is able to entertain its users on-the-go by playing their favourite TV programme. Moreover, users can also record their favourite moment through the UMPC’s 1.98 megapixel webcam module.

Measures 192.3 x 84 x 25.9mm and weighs 470 grams, Sharp Willcom D4 UMPC also features a 5-inch touchscreen WSVGA display, a 1GB of main memory, a 40GB of hard drive, and a microSD card slot. Regarding connectivity, it supports WiFI and Bluetooth.
