CryptLoad – Free File Sharing Download Manager

The good thing about having a premium Rapidshare account is that you can download those shared files using download manager. I usually use Free Download Manager to handle the download, but couple days ago, I found a wonderful app called CryptLoad. CryptLoad is a free download manager for file sharing services. At the moment, it supports Rapidshare.com, Rapidshare.de, Megaupload.com, Uploaded.to, Netload.in, and Filer.net. Since I also own premium account for Megaupload, I can now ditch Megaupload’s MegaManager software and use Cryptload for handling download progress from Megaupload. Very nice.

CryptLoad currently available for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux. You can download the Windows version here.

Ignore the girl picture on the right, it doesn’t have anything to do with this post Anyway, ISIS-Inc, a San Fransisco-based company, offer a text messaging service for the young people, in San Fransisco of course. The information and advice are about sexual health, including STDs, birth control, pregnancy, HIV, and more. Targeted at young people aged 18-25, it is based on a successful program in London operated by the Brook Advisory Centres. To take advantake to this free service, simply send an SMS message to 917-957-4280 (Metro PCS users) and 36617 (all others), with a specific code, depend on the question or information you want to ask, followed by the text SEXINFO.

Send Romantic Picture Message Anonymously With Mob Crush

One more free message service launched for the upcoming Valentine’s Day. If you remember, last week we’ve posted about iTagg, the anonymous Valentine’s text message service. Well, this new one is similar to that. Called Mob Crush, it said to be the simple way to send a picture message to your crush’s phone or email. Like iTagg, you can also remain anonymous. But if you want to leave some mystery to the one you love, you can leave a clue too. According to the website, they won’t keep any records of the information and will not share it with anyone.

Mob Crush doesn’t offer much features though. For example, it provides only 5 pictures. Fortunately, you can upload your own picture if you want. And that’s all they have. Oh well, we can’t expect more for a free service, right?

RapidShare Premium Account

In my List of Free Large File Sharing Service post, there are so many visitors coming from search engine looking for RapidShare premium account. So, here you go. Well, actually, this is a (free) program (download link below) that can generate a Rapidshare’s premium account for you, including the password. I found it from ch0de’s Blog, and according to him, this program works and also virus-free.

Cingular Introduces E-Mail Access on Cell Phone

Cingular Wireless introduces Cingular Mobile Email service for non-business users. This service, powered by OZ Communication inc., lets user to get BlackBerry-like mobile access to their personal e-mail accounts from AOL, Yahoo and MSN Hotmail on a cell phone. It is already designed to adapt the look and capabilities of a Web portal or e-mail program such as Outlook to the limited screen size, keyboard and processing power of a garden variety handset.

Users have to download a Java-based email application to be able to use the Cingular’s service. Initially, starting Monday, it will be available for 5 Motorola Inc. mobile phone’s models and one from Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Particular new phones will also get the software pre-installed.

There’s no monthly charge for Cingular Mobile Email, but users will need to subscribe to one of the company’s wireless Internet plans with a monthly allotment of data usage. Jim Ryan, a Cingular vice president, said a $5 monthly data plan should provide sufficient capacity to check one’s e-mail a few times daily.

Fetching e-mail on a cell phone has been possible for some time, generally by using a mobile Web browser or a downloadable third-party application. But the process is often cumbersome: Users need to click through multiple menus, type in Web addresses, sign in using a telephone keypad, and scroll about to read poorly formatted messages on a small screen.

Skype Announced Voice Service Program

On 8 September 2005, Skype, which offers free high-quality phone calls via VoIP and instant messenger service to anyone with an Internet connection, launched their new Voice Service program for third party content provider.

Skype developed Voice Service Program in partnership with several industry leaders, such as Tellme Network, Voxeo, and Voxpilot. Any content provider may join this Skype’s new program to offer free or chargeable voice services to their customer. Skype callers will be charged through their Skype Credit account when they’re using chargeable voice services.

Several potential services that can be offered by content provider, are live traffic report, horoscope of the day, language learning tools, or international delivery tracking systems. Computer helpline, news service, and voice auctioning also possible. Hmmm, voice auctioning. Maybe this is the reason why eBay is going to buy Skype? Anyway, you can try the demo of Skype’s Voice Service here (you have to install Skype first).

According to Niklas ZennstrÃ¶m, CEO and Co-founder of Skype, â€œSkype has driven a revolution in personal communications by popularizing free Internet phone calls. He continued, â€œWe challenge the world’s most creative content providers to work with us and our partners at Tellme, Voxeo and Voxpilot to develop these new and exciting forms of Internet voice services.”

Skype’s Voice Service Program makes use of the adoption of VoIP for transport and VoiceXML as the application language. Using that new VoIP technology, now anyone can create creative new services for the phone.

Honey, I’m Okay

Couple weeks after the London Blast tragedy, Refresh Media, an online marketing company, comes up with TextOK. This service allow everyone (British mobile users) to quickly contact their relatives, especially during disasters, and let them know that he/she is okay.

Before you can use this service, you have to register your phone number and then adding a list of your friends and family email address. Next, you only need to send an “OK” text message to 60999, and TextOK will send email to all of the people on your list to tell them that you’re safe. It’s not free, the cost is 25p (about 45 cents), but all the profit will go toward Cancer Research UK, Friends of the Earth & NCH (The Children’s Charity) with the aim of raising Â£100,000 ($178,000).
