Asus officially announced the release of “F3E” multimedia laptop in Korea market. Built on Santa Rosa platform, this brand new notebook PC is powered by the powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processor and equipped with a 15.4-inch (1440×900) display, an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, and either 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB of RAM. The machine also comes with the company’s proprietary Splendid (for enhanced graphics quality) and Power4 Gear Extreme (for longer battery life) technologies. No words on pricing at the moment.

Haier showcased its new 14.1-inch laptop during KES 2007 event, the “S60″. Build on Intel’s Santa Rosa notebook PC platform, S60 offers an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an Intel GM965 + ICH8M chipset, up to 4GB of DDR2 main memory, and an integrated Intel GMA X3000 graphics engine. Measures 327 x 275 x 26 ~ 43.4mm and weighs 2.1kg (incl. 4-cell battery), the machine is also equipped with a WXGA Glare-type display, a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, a biometric fingerprint reader, Bluetooth connectivity, and a DVD SuperMulti burner. No words on availability and pricing.

Haier showcased a cool laptop with Transformer logo on its front cover during KES 2007 event. The 17-inch (WXGA) notebook is called “Haier G70″ or dubbed as “Trasnformer”. Build on Intel Santa Rosa platform, the machine sports an Intel 965PM + ICH8M chipset, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an nVidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX graphics card with 256MB of DDR3 memory, a 2.5-inch SATA HDD, and up to 4GB of main memory. Weighs 3.95kg and measures 397 x 282 x 22 ~ 44mm, it is also equipped with an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera module, a biometric fingerprint reader, optional Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-cell battery.

Intel is going to update its Santa Rosa notebook PC platform with the new “Santa Rosa Refresh”. As announced during Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2007 event in San Fransisco, this platform adopts “Penryn”, a mobile processor with 45nm technology and enhanced graphics capabilities. According to the press release, the usage of Penryn will highly improve both perfomance and battery life features, as well as graphics. Many advanced graphics technologies will be unlocked and developers can take advantage of it via DirectX 10 engine. Moreover, Santa Rosa Refresh will feature Intel Mobile 965 Express chipset family, Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N network connection, Intel 82566MM and 82566MC Gigabit Network Connection, and optional Intel Turbo memory.

Along with Santa Rosa Refresh, Intel also showcased another new notebook platform which is called “Montevina”. Scheduled to be released in the middle of 2008, this one sports Penryn Mobile Processor, integrated HD-DVD/Blu-Ray support, optional WiMAX wireless technology, enhanced data manageability, and improved security features. According to Intel, Montevina is about 40% smaller in components than those in current Santa Rosa platform, thus smaller and lighter Centrino-based laptops can be expected once Montevina released.

Sony has just upgraded its VAIO Type S laptop and blessed it with the new Santa Rosa platform and Hybrid HDD option. The lucky model, VAIO VGN-SZ74B/B, is now powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 (2GHZ) processor, an Intel GM965 Express chipset, a 160GB of hard drive (or Hybrid one), and an nVidia GeForce 8400M GS graphics engine. NCDigiTech updates its product portfolio with the new “MegaBook PR200-040KR”. Yeah, not a nice name, but at least the specs isn’t as bad as its name. Samsung showcased “Sens X22″ laptop during SEK 2007 event. This 14.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) notebook PC is powered by Intel’s Santa Rosa platform and sport a HDMI slot and onboard 128MB ATI Radeon Mobility HD 2400 graphics engine. Comes with an aluminium plastic finish, the machine features an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 (2GHz) processor, a 1GB of DDR2 main memory, a 120GB of 5,400rpm SATA hard drive, an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam module, and a pre-installed WIndows Vista Premium Edition operating system. Moreover, weighs 2.2kg, it is equipped with a dual-layer DVD burner, media card reader, Firewire, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, and 802.11a/b/g/n WiFI connectivity.

Samsung Sens X22 laptop will soon be available in Korea market in July and it can be purchased for 1,890,000 (KRW). Europe will follow shortafter, but further info on pricing on that region has not been revealed yet.

Anynote recently presented AL5600G, a new 15.4-inch laptop based on the new Intel Santa Rosa platform. Priced at 1,251,000 (KRW) or about €1,010, the notebook sports an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 (2GHz) processor, an Intel 965M chipset, a 2GB of main memory, a 1GB of Turbo Memory (the speciality of Santa Rosa), a 120GB of 5,400rpm SATA hard drive, and a 256MB GeForce 8600M graphics engine. Moreover, it is equipped with DVD Multi burner and support for 802.11n WiFI connectivity (another Santa Rosa’s speciality).

According to the company’s product page (in Korean, so forgive me if I make mistake translating the detail), Anynote AL5600G laptop will hit the store later this month and it will come with an elegant high-class notebook bag as a bonus.
