HP Korea presents “HP 900 Inkjet Printer” which mainly target SOHO market due to the low price of its cartridge. A single unit of cartridge can print up to 450 high-quality black paper and up to 400 color pages. The price is set at 7,700 (KRW) for black inkjet cartridge and 9,900 (KRW) for tri-color one.

Samsung Electronics unleashed its latest multi-functions printer (MFP), the SCX-1650 series. The printer can do its job without PC, thanks to the incorporated “USB Direct” function. This wonderful capability allows the device to print images (TIFF/BMP/JPEG) directly from USB flash disk or store scanned images on the disk. Yes, like other MFPs outthere, SCX-1650 can also scan your photo/paper at 30ppm (black & white) or 24ppm (color). The maximum dpi it can reach is 4800×1200. Quick ID card copying feature is available as well.

Moreover, SCX-1650 printer supports Bluetooth connectivity and PictBridge. It is also capable of sending images via email directly via SmarThruTM program. Very handy. The suggested price is around 130,000 (KRW).

For those photographic enthusiasts, having a good portable photo printer is a must. You don’t want to wait a long time ’til you can enjoy your snapped photo, right? Well, one of the good portable photo printers outthere is the SELPHY series from Canon. And here’s the newest one: “SELPHY CP740″. This compact handheld photo printer can print a 4 x 6-inch color photo directly from your digital camera or media card. It supports a wide-range of memory card format though, including CF, MD, MS / MS Duo / MS Pro / MS Pro Duo, SD, MMC / MMC Mobile / MMC Plus, miniSD, SDHC, miniSDHC, and RS-MMC. The list can be longer if you get an additional adapter which is available separately.

Other features include a 2-inch color LCD display, red-eye correction, and a host of direct printing options. Canon Selphy CP740 Portable Photo Printer is scheduled to hit the shelves in the next few months with a price tag of just $99.99. Quite affordable.

Epson introduced the successor of P-5000, the P-3000 Portable Media Storage. Aimed at entry-level users, the device comes with just 40GB of hard drive (P-5000 has 80GB), a 4-inch 16M colors display with 640×480 resolution, and compatibility with .h264 and Photo Fine Ultra screen, with xv.Color and ADOBE RGB. Measures 88.7 x 150 x 37.6mm and weighs 426g, it is equipped with SD / CDF / SDHC media card slot, providing additional storage space. Regarding media format, P-3000 supports DivX, WMV9, AAC, and MP3, WMA.

Epson P-3000 Handheld Multimedia Storage will hit the shelves in June with a price tag of between €300 and €400.

Sony has just released two new printers, the DPP-FP90 and FP70 models. Both printers incorporate dye-sublimation technology which combines the functionality of laser printer and the cost effectiveness of ink printer. They sports the company’s proprietary Bionz image processing system that supports up to 48M image quality. Furthermore, these printers come with a color LCD display for previewing the photo and give some retouch or makeover to the image before printing. The only difference between the two printers, apart from the price of course, is the display — DPP-FP70 has a 2.5-inch screen, while FP90 blessed with larger 3.6-inch LCD.

I’m currently thinking of buying either Brothers or Lexmarks laser printer. Maybe I should wait for a while and get any of these dye-sublimation printers instead.

Samsung Electronics recently launched ML-4050N Laser Printer in Korea market. This high-speed black/white printer can print 38 pages per minute (ppm) with only 9 seconds of start up time. Over 20,000 pages can be printed before you have to replace or refill the toner, thanks to its high-capacity tank. Other features include three optional paper trays, 1200dpi high resolution, two-line LCD panels that displays useful information, and SyncThruTM, Samsung’s network app that help users optimizes network environment.

Looks like there are still a few CeBIT 2007-related news left. From Brother’s booth, here’s MFC-5860, the company’s latest all-in-one color inkjet printer. It can fax and copy your document, as well as print photo directly via PictBridge or media card with up to 30 ppm print speed. The printer contains two paper casettes that can hold up to 350 sheets of paper. Nice.

Here goes “Deskjet 460CB”, latest mobile printer from HP. Displayed during CeBIT 2007 show in Hannover, Germany, last week. Not much detail about this printing device, except that it will support wireless printing via Bluetooth and WiFI. Let’s hope there’d be more info about Deskjet 460CB from the company soon.

The SCX-1470 is the brand-new all-in-one inkjet printer from Samsung Electronics. An all-in-one printer means the device can also act as a photocopier and and a fax machine. Very handy, isn’t it? The good thing, SCX-1470 is Bluetooth-ready as well. Equipped with a small Bluetooth receiver, this printer allows users to wirelessly send the images from their Bluetooth-enabled devices and then print them directly. For better printing quality, it provides built-in basic image edition function, so you can pimp your photos first before you print them.

Soon available with a suggested price between 120,000 (KRW) and 130,000 (KRW), Samsung SCX-1470 All-In-One printer also capable of sending scanned photos directly via email.

Canon updates its PIXMA series printer with the new portable PIXMA iP90v Photo Printer. It can print photo in black and white mode at up 16 ppm with 600×600 max dpi, or in color mode at up to 12 ppm with 480×1200 max dpi. The printer can also create borderless postcard-size photo print in approximately 81 seconds. Regarding connectivity, users can connect this sleek and stylish printer to its PC via USB port or directly into their mobile devices using IrDA (.JPEG images only) and Bluetooth (separately available) connectivity. Direct Port Print is supported as well.

Canon PIXMA iP90v Portable Photo Printer will be available very soon for $249.99. The optional user-installable Bluetooth Unit (BU-10) can be purchased for $79.99. A Portable Kit (LK-51B), containing Li-Ion battery with an approximate 450 page life per two hours charge and battery housing that connects the battery to the printer, is also available for $99.99.
