Creative Japan has just announced the next generation of their Zen series PMP, the Zen MX. Scheduled to be released in early Mai, this 66 grams device boasts a 2.5-inch LCD screen, voice recording capability, picture viewer, text viewer, and supports for WMV, DivX, MP3, WMA, and AAC multimedia formats. Measures 83.2 x 55 x 11.9mm, this portable player is available in either 8GB or 16GB internal storage.

Measures 77.5 x 24.5 x 14.3 mm and weighs at just 26 grams, iRiver’s latest creation, T5, features a 4GB of onboard storage and supports for various popular audio formats. To transfer files from your computer, you simply have to plug the device to your USB port and it will be detected as a portable storage. The next job is as simple as drag-and-drop. To entertain you anytime, T5 also comes with built-in FM radio tuner, so if get bored with your own music collection, you can still tune-in to your favourite radio station. No words on pricing, but the player will be available in two different colours, black and white/gray.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Yepp sub-brand, Samsung Electronics released Yepp Q2 (product code: YP-Q2) MP3 player in Korea market. Featuring support for DNSe 3.0 technology that delivers optimum sound for music and video playback, the device comes with a 2.4-inch display, built-in FM radio tuner, text viewer, games, and a battery that provides up to 50 hours of playback. It is also equipped with an auto-bookmark function (not sure what the hell is that), a consumer-oriented user button, and support for WMA and MPEG-4 video playback. Finally, Samsung Yepp Q2 portable player is available in three colors — black, white, and blue.

For now, three capacity variants are available: 4GB (139,000 Won), 8GB (179,000 Won), and 16GB (239,000 Won).

For less than $80, you can buy this nice 8GB B52HD Portable Media Player from Cube. With support for various media formats (RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, MP3, WAV, WMA, APE, FLAC, OGG), you can watch your video collection on its 5-inch display with 480 x 272 resolution. You can even connect the device to your HD TV and enjoy those wonderful 720p HD resolution playback (your HD videos will be downgrade if you play it directly on its screen). Out of music and movie? Don’t worry, you still have one more entertainment option — listen to your favourite FM radio channels. Not bad for a Chinese product, isn’t it? Oh by the way, B52HD also comes with a touchscreen user interface… that’s why there’s only one single button on its front side.

iRiver officially announced the release of the brand new E150 Portable MP4 Player in Korea market. Featuring a curved design with a typical Scandinavian-style GUI, the device comes with a 2.4-inch TFT LCD display and a stereo speaker on its back, along with built-in FM radio tuner, photo album, A-B repeat function, and video playback @ 30 fps. E150 is available in three different colors (black, white, and pink), each with three capacity variants (2GB, 4GB, and 8GB). The 2GB version is retailed for 108,000 Won (about $82), 4GB for 138,000 Won (about $104), and 8GB for 168,000 Won (about $127). The latter seems like a great deal to me!

Sanyo recently updated its product portfolio with three brand new portable navigation system under their Gorilla series. The new GPS devices — NV-SD730DT, NV-SB450DT, and NV-SB530DT — each featuring a nice design, VICS traffic information (except SB530DT model), built-in 1Seg TV tuner that brings your favourite TV programme on the road, LED backlight display, and ECO mode that warns you when you’re driving too fast. Officially announced in Tokyo couple days ago, all of these PNDs also boast an 8GB of SSD (Solid State Disk) storage. Regarding screen size, SD730DT comes with 7-inch display, while both SB450DT and SB530DT have 5.2-inch display. Interested?

One of my most wanted gadget is a portable or hand-held e-book reader like Amazon’s Kindle. Unfortunately, its $359.99’s price tag isn’t cheap and I surely think twice before I spend my four hundred bucks for a gadget like that. The good news is, Foxit, the company behind the famous Foxit Reader software, has started accepting pre-order for their newest product called eSlick Reader. Priced at just $259.99, this cheap handy device offers a maximum resolution of 800×600 with a 4 shades of grey, a built-in 128MB of storage with SD media card slot (up to 4GB supported) for additional space, USB connection, and Linux-based OS. It also comes with a built-in MP3 player, a document editing tool that can zoom your PDF document up to 400%, and of course, its own Foxit Reader software. Moreover, eSlick Reader is thick (1cm) and lightweight (180gr) as well.

The device’s low-power display screen itself utilized the revolutionary electronic-paper display technology by E Ink Corporation which looks like a real paper. You’ll see a crisp and easy to read text, whether you’re under the bright sunlight with your friend or sitting alone in your bed room. Furthermore, unlike LCD screen, the eSlick Reader’s screen does not have the angle-of-view issue, so you can conveniently read the document from any view.

iToos, China-based manufacturer, presented T68HD, a compact 4.3-inch Portable Media Player featuring HD video playback (it plays 720p HD video at lower resolution). You can also send the video playback out to your LCD TV, thanks to its TV out port. The device itself supports various multimedia formats, including RM, RMVB, FLV, AVI, MPEG4 (video), MP3, WAV (audio), etc. Of course, photo files are supported as well. Other features include a 800 x 480 resolution and an 8GB of internal memory, but no WiFI connectivity unfortunately.

iToos T68HD PMP is retailed for just €66 or about $87 USD.

Supported files include XVid, WMV9, MPEG2, MPEG4, and H.264. This portable multimedia device is currently available in three versions — the P35 Basic (8GB storage), P35 DMB (built-in DMB TV receiver, 16GB storage), and P35 WiFI (WiFI connectivity, DMB TV tuner, 16GB onboard memory). Obviously, every one would choose the last version. Right?
