Onkyo presented its newest Sotec series laptop, the Sotec C103 netbook. Available in two colors (black and silver), this mini notebook sports an Intel Atom N270 processor, a 1GB of main memory, an Intel 945GSE Express chipset, a 10.1-inch WSVGA LCD display, a 160GB of hard drive, and a 802.11b/g/n WiFI connectivity. It is equipped with a 4.4.Ah battery that lasts for up to 5 hours per full charge. Well, nothing special here. In a matter of fact, the C103 is the same as Onkyo’s Sotec C101 model, except that it comes with a different flavours.

Anyway, I’ve read some computer magazine last week, and it said that the days of less-than-10-inch netbook are already over. Even Asus, the manufacturer of the first and the most famous Eee PC netbook, has mentioned that they will only offer 10-inch netbook from now on. I really agree with this, since I own two netbooks, one with 7-inch display and other with 10-inch screen, and I prefer to use the latter.

Japan-based computer manufacturer Onkyo has just released its latest all-in-one multimedia desktop PC, the Sotec E702A9. This kind of machine is perfect for those who want to have a powerful desktop PC but only has a small area of empty space on their work room. Of course, it can also be used for multimedia PC on everyone’s living room. I actually want to have one of these too.

On the specs department, E702A9 all-in-one PC is powered by a 2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 processor, a 2GB of main memory, a 500GB of hard drive, and an nVidia GeForce 9300 graphics engine. It is also equipped with a 21.5-inch Full HD LCD monitor (16:9 aspect ratio, 1920 x 1080 resolution), Blu-Ray burner, built-in 2 x 8W speakers, a generous 8 x USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, HDMI, WiFI a/b/g connectivity, S/PDIF, media card reader, and an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam. Customers would receive a handy remote control as well, so they can control its multimedia player without leaving their chair…

The new X-NX10A from Onkyo is an imprresive multimedia sound system with integrated 80GB of hard drive and internet connectivity (for retrieving currently playing music information) via Ethernet. It comes with a nice LCD display, an elegant set of tower speakers — each with a 13cm medium and 3cm tweeter and 26W output –, CD player, and USB interface for transferring the music from your USB disk to the HDD. Supported audio format includes MP3, PCM, and ATRACT.

Onkyo X-NX10A Sound System is expected to hit the store with a price tag of 450 EUR or around US $700.

I love this one! Looks exclusive and elegant. Released in partnership with Sotec, this mini PC from Onkyo is called “APX-2″. As a HD audio PC, you can expect APX-2 to deliver a high-quality sound to your ear. It is powered by a built-in digital audio amplifier — which is the same amp on Okyo PCI-200 audio card — along with Vista-certified volume mixer function and pre-installed Pure Direct Audio Path (PDAP) that enhanced HD audio quality in Vista environment. And to ensure that the busy hard drive won’t give you too much unwanted noise, Onkyo attached the HDD on a Super Floating HDD Unit, guarantee the PC would work as silent as possible.

Regarding hardware, Onkyo APX-2 HD Audio PC boasts an Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66GHz) processor, a 1GB of main memory, and a 500GB of hard drive.

Onkyo presents TX-SA505, a 7.1-channel amplifier supporting Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DST, DTS-ES, AAC, Dolby NR Professional Logic IIx, and DTS 96/24 sound processors. It incorporate “Theater-Dimensional” technology which create 5.1-channel sound from only 2 speakers. Other features include 7×100W (6Ω), 24bit/192kHz (DAC), and Audyssey 2EQ that provides advanced precision on each speaker. Everything sounds great… but nothing’s perfect. FYI, TX-SA505 Amp doesn’t come with HDMI port… too bad…

Onkyo Japan has just announced a cool and stylish sound system called the CBX-Z1. Interestingly, this CD player features an excellence 8 cms wide speaker with Aero Acoustic Drive that promised high quality output. Measures 435 x 232 x 138 mm and weighs 4.3kg, it is equipped with a stereo mini input that allows users to connect other audio sources to the unit. Moreover, its amplifier delivers an output of 5Wx2ch and playback frequency of 50Hz – 20kHz.

Other remarkable feature of CBX-Z1 Sound System is its built-in iPod dock. One can simply placed their iPod to the dock and it will play the music stored inside. Playback functions, such as On / Off and Play / Pause, can be executed from the provided remote control. Unfortunately, apart from the iPod, it only supports standard audio CD.

According to the company, the CBX-Z1 Aero Sound System will hit the market starting from November 30th in Japan with a retail price between $335 to $420 (or 40,000 to 50,000 Yen).

Anything made from wood are identic to elegancy. And so does this new handmade wooden speaker from Onkyo, the D-TK10. Made from rosewood and mahogany wood, this speakers is produced at 50 units quantity only each month with a household limit of one. Having one of them would not just make you feel elegant, you’d also feel rich since each pair is retailed for $2,000. Unfortunately, it is currently available in Japan only.

The new Wavio MP-1000J from Onkyo is a portable AV hard drive enclosure that holds 2.5-inch HDD. Okay, nothing special, right? Wrong! Interestingly, this HDD holder can be connected to your car’s 12V adapter and let you enjoy an instant AV system right in your car without having to install a separate unit. Measures 80 x 148 x 24mm, it can play movie at 480p, 720p, and 1080i HD resolutions. The device is equipped with a USB port so users can send and upload their music and video files from PC or other mobile devices with USB connection to the MP-1000J. If you’re looking for a way to waste the time during a long trip, be sure to save $125 and buy Wavio MP-1000J as soon as it releases in Japan next week. Don’t forget that the HDD is not included so you have to buy one separately.
