Nintendo has launched a new bundle of Nintendo DS Lite to commemorate the Mother’s Day. This special (could be limited as well) NDS package comes in lime-green color, a green-white-colored carrying case with a tropical print, and a cooking software called “Personal Training: Cooking”. Not sure about the price yet, but it’s probably around any existing DS Lite bundles price range. If you want, you have to wait until May 3rd before you can purchase this portable console.

Anyway, I’m really glad with the release of many great NDS games lately. Unlike two or a year ago, I now have a lot of choices of RPG titles to play on my DS. Unfortunately, its next-gen sibling, Nintendo Wii, don’t get any good titles in the last few months….

These two latest generation handheld consoles finally evolved (again), bringing the console war between Sony and Nintendo to a new beginning. Sony’s weapon, PSP-3000, now features an anti-glare screen for non-stop daylight outdoor gaming experience, WiFI connectivity, USB 2.0 interface, 3.5mm audio and analogue video output, up to five hours of battery life, and built-in microphone; while Nintendo’s little boy, DSi, proudly boasts a wider 3.25-inch touchscreen display (its predecessor has 3-inch display), WiFI connectivity, SD card slot, up to six hours of battery life, and built-in 0.3MP digital camera. So, who’ll be the sole winner?

While I own both devices — the original though (PSP Fat and NDS) — I think there is NO real winner here. On the specs department, PSP 3000 surely beats DSi with its better display, faster processor, and a load of features. But Nintendo DSi does come with touchscreen display and stylus approach that delivers a whole new level of gaming. Most hardcore gamers would buy PSP with no question asked, but the others, who love to play game for fun would definitely enjoy DSi. So in the end, it depends on what kind of gamer are you and what do you expect from a handheld console.

As for me, if I have to buy any of these two gaming consoles, I’d choose Nintendo DSi over PSP 3000. Many new great games are coming to DSi lately (ChronoTrigger anyone?) and I surely don’t want to miss them.

Nintendo DS is one of my favourite portable gaming console, and I really wish this rumor would be real. According to IGN, the next generation of NDS, which is scheduled to hit the store in either April or May next year, will feature dual touchscreen displays, with at least one of them will be widescreen’ed. The hardware will likely get an upgrade as well. Hopefully, the company will officially announce the brand new DS at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show in October.

MySims is back. Coming to your Nintendo Wii and DS this fall, MySims Kingdom is the new installment to MySims saga. According to Electronic Arts, the game will let play as a character who serve King Roland, whose kingdom must be restored to its former glory via your adventure. Too bad there’s no trailer at the moment. As soon as we found one, we’ll post it to our Trailers channel.

Bored with your Nintendo DS? Well, don’t throw it away yet as you always have two choices. First, you can start playing fun, addictive Flash games and give the NDS to your brother or sister. Or second, you can bring a new life to the mini gaming console by sending it over to King Deco and let them pimp your NDS. As you can see from the picture above, after the bling-bling makeover, your NDS would never be same the again.

Now this could be the most exciting (and funniest) way to learn English, by killing zombies! Thanks to Sega’s upcoming Nintendo DS’s title, English of The Dead, everyone can improve their English speaking and writing skills simply by playing House of The Dead-type FPS game. One more Nintendo DS news. According to its recent press release, Nintendo will soon offer a new color for Nintendo DS, “Cobalt Black”. If you purchase this one, you’d get a DS with blue color on the top and black on the bottom. Looks gorgeous, huh? The good news, you can find it on the store starting from next week. The bad news? It will be only available in North American market. How unfortunate…

Sega is going to release a new title for DS based on the latest Doraemon movie, “Doraemon No Bita to Midori No Kyojinden”. To promote the game (and the movie), the company will give away 70 Nintendo DS’s machine to lucky Doraemon and Nobita’s fans in Japan. Each DS will be pimped with a nice Doraemon theme. IMHO, from the screenshot above, it looks better than any previous “special edition” DS.

Yup, it’s true, soon Nintendo DS owners will be able to download NDS games (either full version or demos) through their Wii via broadband access, and then wirelessly transmitted them to their DS via Bluetooth. Reggie Fils-Amie, Nintendo US CEO, confirmed this news on New York Times. Not just games, additional content, such as extra levels, characters, maps, etc, will be available as well.

Let’s hope there’ll be more detail about this wonderful feature later.

Eagerly waiting for Ninja Gaiden 2 to be released in XBox 360 and Playstation 3? Well, since Ryu Hayabusa won’t be hitting X360 very soon, not until Q4 2008 as its schedule, you might want to check out “Ninja Gaiden Dragon Swords” game which will be released in March 2008. This game is available for Nintendo DS and eventhough you won’t get pretty graphics like those on the next-gen gaming console, but you can still expect Ryu’s signature moves, including Izuna Drop, Cicada Slash, and Nimpo Magic.

According to its developer, Ninja Gaiden DS will also take advantage of NDS’s stylus system, forcing players to do a lot of tapping and slashing, if they want to win the battle. Looks fun!
