MPIO Unleashes MG200 DAP

MPIO plans to release its new “MG200″ Digital Audio Player (DAP) in Japan market starting from December. This flash-based player comes with either 1, 2, or 4GB of onboard storage, along with SDHC media card slot (up to 8GB supported) for memory expansion. It can play both MP3 and WMA audio files, as well as several other popular media formats, including video files. If you already bored with your own music and movie collection, no worry. The provided FM radio tuner lets you stay tune to your favourite radio station anytime anywhere.

Measures 85.6 x 39.1 x 10.8mm and weighs 42 grams, MPIO MG200 DAP comes with an 18 hours of battery life (for audio playback). No words on pricing though.

MPIO Presents FL500 DAP

MPIO of Japan has just announced its latest digital audio player, “FL500″ model. Designed with an electric guitar in mind, the portable music player is available in two capacity variants, 1GB (6,980 Yen) and 2GB (8,980 Yen). No words on specs, but I bet you’ll get all the standard features you can expect from a DAP device.

MPIO MG100 MP3 Player

MPIO is going to offers MG100, its new 9.2mm-thich metal-covered portable MP3 player. Supporting both audio and video playback, this DAP features a 1.5-inch full color TFT LCD display, a voice recording capability, a FM radio tuner, portable disc, and image viewer capability. Regarding its built-in rechargeable Lithium-polymer battey, it provides up to 20 hours of music playback and 6 hours of video.

MPIO MG100 Portable MP3 Player will be available in two capacity variants, 1GB and 2GB. Price respectively sets at 169,000 (KRW) and 199,000 (KRW).

New MPIO FY700 Disney MP3 Player

MPIO is going to release a new version of their FY700 Disney MP3 player that comes with several new cool cases designs. Not sure whether this Korean company will include some new features as well or not. The original FY700 MP3 player itself is the winner of the prestigious Best Innovation Award in the portable digital audio category at the CES 2006. It features a multi-level cell (MLC) flash technology, a detachable strap, OLED display, and support for wide-range of digital audio format, including MP3, WMA, Janus DRM, and ASF.

MPIO FY700 MP3 Player – New Edition

MPIO has recently launched another version of their FY700 MP3 Player. This fashionable digital audio player, if you remember, can be hanged on a bag with a crabinner or held tight on a belt or bagstrip with a band strap. Or you can use it with a necklace string that would make you look more fashionable (and geek). As the winner of the CES 2006 Innovation Awards, this device obviously packed with a great features, such as multi-level cell (MLC) flash memory technology – which is the first one in Korea, Organic LED (OLED) display, and a long 10 hours of continuous audio playback. MPIO, a Korean manufacturer, has recently presented their new MP3 Player which is based on several famous Disney characters. To name a few: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Winnie The Pooh. Thanks to this FY700 player, the long list of Disney-based devices and gadgets has grown up again. The good thing is, this is not a usual portable digital music player. This MP3 player has won the prestigious Best Innovation Award in the portable digital audio category at the CES 2006. Cool, isn’t it?

Let’s find out why.

First, it uses multi-level cell (MLC) flash technology which effectively double storage capacity of standard flash devices. Second, it comes with a detachable strap that can be worn on the wrist or as a belt. Furthermore, it also has an Organic LED (OLED) display which is low on power consumption. Powered by an AAA battery, the device offers 10 hours of continous audio playback.

MPIO FY700 MP3 player supports MP3, WMA, Janus DRM, and ASF audio formats. Several capacity variants are available, ranging from 256MB to 1GB. No words about the price and availibity yet, but it will be released in Europe and USA too for sure.

MPIO Will Release New Pendant-Type MP3 Player FL400 In November

MPIO, a Korean company, announced that they are going to release FL400, the new model on their pendant-type MP3 player “FL” line up. Planned to release this month, this player supports general audio format, including MP3, WMA, ASF, and OGG. Slightly smaller than the previous FL300 models, this black-colored device runs on lithium-polymer battery and able to play your favorite music for about 8 hours before recharge.

Another features are FM radio tuner, voice recording, and integrated RTC (Real Time Clock) chipset to provide exact time display. For more technical specs, check out the table below.

Detail Information About Upcoming MPIO HD400 Personal Media Player

Following the news about MPIO plan to release their new personal music player product, the HD400 model, their Korean branch (MPIO Korea) has revealed more detailed information and features about this player. First, it will be equipped with QCIF 1.8-inch TFT LCD. It supports MP3, WMA, ASF, and OGG files, as well as picture files and video files. It can even play video clips or music files protected by MS DRM since it implements MS’ Janus DRM.

HD400 comes with 8GB micro drive which is enough for hundreds and hours of entertainment. It also has a built-in FM radio tuner, voice record capability, and even game (no detail info about the game though). And with 24pin terminal, you can charge this all-in-one player with a general cell phone adapter.

Measures 52 x 93 x 15mm, MPIO HD400’s battery has 12 hours playback time. There’s no words about the retail price.

Klegg Mini – NOT The World’s Smallest Color Display MP3 Player

A nice little fact found by AnythingButIpod.com regarding Klegg’s latest MP3 player, the Mini, that they claimed as the world’s smallest color MP3 player. It seems that people at Klegg forgot to include one more player to compare to the Mini player, and so wrongfully claimed themself. The forgotten player is MPIO ONE which is smaller and comes with color display too.

Here is the math: Klegg Mini 48 x 38 x 17 = 28.4 cubic centimeters verses MPIO ONE 55 x 32 x 12 = 21.1 cubic centimeter.

Pure fault or just a marketting gimmick to misleading potential customers?

MPIO New Personal Media Players

MPIO will release two new personal media players, the HD400 and HD500. The first one will come with 8GB HDD, while the second one has bigger storage capacity, 20GB and 40GB. Like others portable media player, both can play music, videos, and text files. They also have FM radio and 3.5mm line-in recording features.

No official release date yet, so let’s just wait and see.
