Microphone + Mouse = MicMouse

Back in July, we’ve posted about a mousepad with a built-in microphone device. If that’s not enough, you can combine that mousepad with this MicMouse from Act-On – a USB mouse with an integerated microphone. The mic only works on Windows and said to support various VoIP and instant messenger services, such as Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, and MSN.

The mouse itself is an optical mouse that comes with a scroll wheel and has 800 dpi resolution. Available in two colors (silver and black), this 3-button mouse measures 113 x 60 x 30 mm. No words about the price yet.

PSP Talkman Released

Sony’s PSP Talkman has started shopping by Lik-Sang. It consists of a microphone that can be attached into the PSP’s USB port and an integrated software. The software, that can be used as a language trainer or an interpreter, supports four different language: Japanese, Chinese, English and Korean/Hangul. Basically, according to the company, the Talkman is designed to teach English to Japanese PSP owners. It will also provide an interesting language games to test their skills.

Soundproof Microphone

The Japanese people might really love karaoke. It’s been a popular form of entertainment since the early 80s. According to the Karaoke Industry Association, there are about 460,000 karaoke machines in all of Japan today.

To help you practise your singing skill (and help those people who cant’ stand your voice), a Japanese company has created this soundproof microphone or “Bou-on maiku myuto” (bou-on= soundproof, noiseproof; maiku=microphone; myuto=mute). It is advertised as “The best secret training! You can sing in the loudest voice while your family and neighbors sleep. You can also release stress, for example when you want to shout four-letter words without others noticing“.

So whether you want to be a karaoke star or famous singer, this device could be your first step. You can practise anytime and anywhere, without having to bother people around you. But I doubt you want to use it in the middle of the crowd.

Sony PSP Talkman

Sony announced a new accessory for PSP, Sony PSP Talkman (PSP-240). The Talkman is a microphone connected to the USB interface of the Sony PSP.

Sony PSP Talkman bundled with speech recognition software. Basically, it’s a language interpreter and a language trainer. The software, features a funky blue talking bird, supports four different language: Japanese, Chinese, English and Korean

Sony PSP Talkman measures 50 x 10 x 10mm and weighs only 6g. It will be available in Japan on 17 November 2005 for 5,800 Yen (around $52) or $69.00 (international). You can pre-order it through Play-Asia, the Japanese Game Exporter.
