Creative Japan has just announced the next generation of their Zen series PMP, the Zen MX. Scheduled to be released in early Mai, this 66 grams device boasts a 2.5-inch LCD screen, voice recording capability, picture viewer, text viewer, and supports for WMV, DivX, MP3, WMA, and AAC multimedia formats. Measures 83.2 x 55 x 11.9mm, this portable player is available in either 8GB or 16GB internal storage.

For less than $80, you can buy this nice 8GB B52HD Portable Media Player from Cube. With support for various media formats (RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, MP3, WAV, WMA, APE, FLAC, OGG), you can watch your video collection on its 5-inch display with 480 x 272 resolution. You can even connect the device to your HD TV and enjoy those wonderful 720p HD resolution playback (your HD videos will be downgrade if you play it directly on its screen). Out of music and movie? Don’t worry, you still have one more entertainment option — listen to your favourite FM radio channels. Not bad for a Chinese product, isn’t it? Oh by the way, B52HD also comes with a touchscreen user interface… that’s why there’s only one single button on its front side.

iToos, China-based manufacturer, presented T68HD, a compact 4.3-inch Portable Media Player featuring HD video playback (it plays 720p HD video at lower resolution). You can also send the video playback out to your LCD TV, thanks to its TV out port. The device itself supports various multimedia formats, including RM, RMVB, FLV, AVI, MPEG4 (video), MP3, WAV (audio), etc. Of course, photo files are supported as well. Other features include a 800 x 480 resolution and an 8GB of internal memory, but no WiFI connectivity unfortunately.

iToos T68HD PMP is retailed for just €66 or about $87 USD.

Measures 128.3 x 79.7 x 17.8mm and weighs only 220 grams, iRiver’s P35 Portable Media Player features a 4.3-inch WQVGA display, USB 2.0 interface, and the ability to play both audio and video media formats. Supported files include XVid, WMV9, MPEG2, MPEG4, and H.264. This portable multimedia device is currently available in three versions — the P35 Basic (8GB storage), P35 DMB (built-in DMB TV receiver, 16GB storage), and P35 WiFI (WiFI connectivity, DMB TV tuner, 16GB onboard memory). Obviously, every one would choose the last version. Right?

Korean manufacturer atree has just announced the release of J2, its latest portable media player, in Korea market. This player boasts a blinking LED ‘Red Eye’ feature, along with a 2.4-inch display,audio / video playback, FM radio tuner, photo viewer, text reader, voice recorder, and a microSD slot (up to 8GB supported). Seems like a wonderful mobile entertainment device, huh? Furthermore, J2 also sports a built-in electronic dictionary, up to 38 hours of music playback, and up to 8 hours of video playback.

Atree J2 PMP is retailed for 115,000 Won (about $74 USD) and 138,000 Won (about $89 USD) for the 4GB and 8GB version.

Cowon has made a new addition to their S9 Series PMP, the limited edition Cowon S9 Chrome Black. Comes with a 16GB of onboard storage, the portable media player features a 3.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 480 x 272, Bluetooth connectivity, voice recorder, Flash player, built-in FM radio tuner, text viewer, and supports for various media formats (AVI, WMV, WMA, FLAC, OGG, APE, WAV, JPG). The device also has a nice-looking user interface. Not bad.

Another PMP device for today. Coming from a Chinese company named Gemei, this HD-660 Portable Media Player features a 32GB of internal memory (but no external memory slot), a 4.3-inch WQVGA (480 x 272) display, and TV out port. Unlike Evergreen DN-MP490, HD-660 comes with HD-quality display (720p) which brings high-definition movie to your pocket. Regarding media supports, this compact device plays video (RM / RMVB / AVI / FLV / MPEG) and audio (MP3 / WMA / FLAC) files.

Measures 123 x 76 x 15mm and weighs 147 grams, Gemei HD-660 PMP comes bundled with a remote control and external video cable for plugging the device to your television. Not bad.

Note that HD-660 is available in China land only, but you might have some luck finding it out on eBay. So happy hunting!

Measures 106 x 70 x 11mm and weighs 129 grams, Evergreen’s new DN-MP490 Portable Media Player sports a 4-inch display with 480 x 272 resolution, a 2GB of onboard storage with SDHC media card slot for external memory, and of course, built-in media player supporting various popular video (AVI / FLV / RM / RMVB), audio (MP3 / WMA / WAVE / FLAC / APE / AAC / OOG), image (JPG / BMP / GIF), and even text (TXT / LRC) files. No words on pricing though.

Cowon has just upgraded its popular D2 PMP device and presented D2+. Weighs 91 grams and measures 78 x 55.4 x 16.6mm, the all-new compact portable media player boasts a 2.5-inch QVGA display, a SDHC media card slot (up to 32GB SDHC card supported), audio/video playback, and up to 16GB of onboard memory. Compared to the original version, the D2+ offers better battery life, along with improved LCD, new calculator function, better user interface, and several other new features, such as notepad and direct radio recording.

Two versions are currently available, one with built-in DMB tuner and other without the ability to watch digital TV on-the-go. Each has four different flavours — pink, white, blue, and black silver.

M1 EDU is a WinCE 5.0-powered portable media player from Maxian. Eventhough this Korean manufacturer mentioned PMP as Pocket Multi-Player, its available is the same as a portable media player. Powered by a dual-core processor, the device sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, an integrated FM radio tuner, built-in DMB (Digital Media Broadcast) receiver, electronic dictionary, and SD media card slot. It supports various media formats, including MPEG-1/2/3/4, WMV, AVI, MP3, and WMA.

Maxian M1 EDU PMP is available in Korea market with two different capacity variants, 8GB and 16GB.
