Actually, there are some more. But they only let you upload small size file, so I guess we don’t really need them, right? :p

This time we’re going to try SaveFile. The file size limit and the time limit is lowered than MegaUpload, only 60MB file size and 14 days (no one download the uploaded file for 14 days). Compared with MegaUpload who gives 250MB file size limit and 30 days time limit. So why I choose SaveFile for this tutorial? Because not many people use this service yet, so you might get much better download speed compare with other similar service.

Uploading File tutorial

1. As usual, let’s start by going to SaveFile website. Click on Upload My File button on the bottom of the page.

   

2. On the next page, you’ll be asked to choose between Standard or Member section. If you have time to spend with the registration, choose Member. But if not, just choose Standard. Both are free, but Member option gives several extra features. This tutorial will go with the Standard option.

   

3. Now, we enter the information about the file we’re going to upload. Click on Browse to choose the file. Then enter the title and the description of the file on the Title and Description textbox. Don’t forget to type the correct security code (all number I guess). Click Upload File when you’re ready to upload the file.

   

4. Just wait until the upload process finish. Unfortunately, there’s no progress bar like MegaUpload, but you’ll be redirected to a new page when it finished. This page will contains the URL to download the file you’ve just uploaded.

   

Not hard isn’t it? )

One of the most advantage of using MegaUpload, compare with other similar service, is the duration how long your file(s) will be kept in their server. Your uploaded files will be deleted only after it become unused for 30 days. So, if many of your friends download it, over and over again, the files will always be there. The size is quite big, up to 250MB. Not as big as YouSendIt which allow up to 1GB file size, but it’s more than enough to share your music files, movies, etc.

Why do they use Megaupload?

People use Megaupload.com because we are simply the best way to get large and small files from one person to another over the internet.

It eliminates the following problems:

• It is more secure than normal e-mail.
• You don’t have to worry about the size of file and being rejected because their e-mail server won’t allow a file that big or their e-mail is full.
• If you send a file to several people and discover you forgot someone you don’t have to upload the attachment again. Simply send the megaupload file link to the person you forgot.
• The download is the exact file you uploaded and no one had a chance to spoof or replace the file with another. Our servers are secure and after a file is uploaded and you have the link it can be removed but not changed.
• Now you are able to e-mail out from an internet cafe, friends PC, or while you’re at a company pc. You can easily upload the files from the PC and then download them when you get to your destination.
• Stop being shouted at by your friends saying it took forever to get your e-mail attachment and they couldn’t receive or send an e-mail until it’s completed. Not everyone is on a high speed connection and files get larger everyday. By sending the link people can download your files at their leisure when they are ready.
• Eliminate country or domain blocking problems for e-mail. Because of spam more and more companies are implementing new rules about receiving e-mails. It is not uncommon for companies to delete e-mail from certain countries or even domains. If someone can’t receive your e-mail just telephone them and give them the file link over the telephone. This will allow them to download the file easily and simply.

How to Upload Files

1. Go to MegaUpload website (off course!)

   

2. Click on the Browse button to select which file you want to upload. A file dialog will open.

   

   Choose the file and select Ok.

   

3. Give a description of file you upload on the File Description, so everyone who download it know for sure what file it is. If you want to send notification to a specific person, enter his/her email address on the Recipient Address and your own email address on the Your Email. Click Send.

   

4. File upload progress will begin. You can see the current progress on the right.

   

   Once the upload finished, the progress bar will change.

   

5. Look at the top part of the screen (where the Select File to Send textbox appear before). Now there’s a unique URL on it. This is the download address of your file. If you want someone to download the file you’ve just uploaded, just give them that URL.

   

How to Download Files

1. Go to the download URL. The following page will appear. Note that there’s a 45 secs counter on the top. As a free member, you have to wait until the counter expired before you can download the file.

   

2. Once the 45 secs counter passed, message below will appear. Just click on it to download the file.

To upload a file just follow these simple steps:

• Select a file to send by clicking the “Browse” button. You can then select photos, audio, video, documents or anything else you want to send. The maximum file size is 250 MB.
• You may choose who you want to send a file to. If you just want to get the link to your file stored on our server leave the optional fields blank.
• Click the “Send” button to start uploading the file. You will see the progress of the file transfer, please don’t close your browser window while uploading or it will cancel the upload.
• If you entered an optional recipient e-mail address they will be sent the link of the file. They can then simply click the link to your file to download it.
• If you entered optionally your email address you will be sent the link and delete-link to your file stored on our server. You can share it for example on forums, websites, messengers, etc.

Belum cukup surprise-nya, beberapa hari lalu di koran JawaPos, dimuat artikel ttg tayangan sejenis yg mengambil fokus pemain sepak bola! Ini baru keren :p Gak jelas stasiun TV mana yg akan menayangkannya (jangan-jangan JTV nih), yg jelas audisinya sendiri untuk wilayah Surabaya udah dimulai. Berikut cuplikan beritanya yg diambil dari JawaPos Online:

Pertama kali, Taufik berpikir akan mengadakan kejuaraan sepak bola junior yang berskala besar. Namun, setelah melalui perhitungan yang matang, dia batal melaksanakan rencana itu. Kegiatan serupa sudah terlalu sering dilaksanakan. Tidak ada variasi lain. “Ketika saya tengah berpikir keras untuk melakukan inovasi, tercetus keinginan untuk membuat ajang idol bagi pesepak bola. Toh, saat ini kontes serupa tengah digandrungi di Indonesia,” urainya.

Melalui berbagai kajian dengan timnya, Taufik menemukan konsep program yang matang. Layaknya kontes idola lainnya, audisi juga dilakukan oleh panpel di beberapa kota besar di Indonesia. Untuk audisi pertama, Surabaya mendapat kehormatan menjadi kota untuk pembukaan acara ini.

Selain Kota Pahlawan, audisi akan digelar di Makassar, Semarang, Bandung, Jakarta, dan Medan. Panpel akan menjaring maksimal 6 pemain berbakat di tiap kota. Total, sebanyak 26 pemain rencananya masuk babak utama.

Pada audisi pertama di Surabaya yang digelar di Lapangan Hoki Dhamarwangsa kemarin, peminatnya cukup banyak, yakni 131 pemain. Untuk eliminasi pertama, 30 pemain masuk saringan menuju 21 pemain. Dari jumlah terakhir itu, para pemain diseleksi lagi untuk nominasi babak utama.

Para pemain yang masuk babak utama akan menjalani training camp di Jakarta selama 40 hari. Selama itu pula, seperti kontes idola yang lain, para pemain hasil seleksi ini akan mendapatkan bimbingan dari berbagai pelatih. Pemusatan latihan ini akan dimulai pada 24 Juli, rencananya akan ditayangkan di televisi.

“Sampai sekarang kami masih melakukan nego dengan sejumlah stasiun televisi. Menjelang babak utama nanti, masalah ini saya yakin akan beres. Untuk itu, para pemain nanti akan bisa dinikmati pemirsa dan mereka akan mendukung lewat polling SMS (short message service),” lanjut Taufik.

Pemain yang lolos akan bersaing untuk menunjukkan kebolehannya di layar televisi. Penilaian penonton akan menentukan siapa yang menjadi terbaik. Motivasi pemain semakin tinggi untuk merebut gelar itu sebab pengalaman berharga akan menunggunya jika menjadi yang terbaik.

Dua pemain yang mendapatkan SMS terbanyak akan diberikan kesempatan magang selama 10 hari di Inggris. Dua klub besar Negeri asal David Beckham itu, Manchester United (MU) dan Newcastle United, siap menerima. “Baik MU ataupun Newcastle telah menyatakan sanggup menampungnya. Dua pemain terbaik nanti akan mendapat kesempatan latihan di markas kedua klub raksasa itu dalam ajang summer course,” ungkap Taufik.
