Asus P80 is a 14-inch laptop from Asustek featuring new Anti-Theft technology from Intel. According to the company, users will be able to shut down the notebook remotely, thus keeping the data inside the machine save until the laptop goes back to their hand. Once recovered, they can use local passphrase or recovery token to reactive the laptop. There’s also an AI Pre-Boot Finger Login function that requires users to have their finger scanned prior to system boot. This way, only the rightful owners can start up the machine. Finally, the AI Secure Delete allows users to completely erase data or files without any way to restore them later.

Regarding specs, Asus P80 laptop features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB of DDR2 main memory, up to 320GB of hard drive, a 1366 x 768 anti-glare LED backlight display with 16:9 aspect ratio, an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam module, Intel WiMAX/WiFI Link 5100, optional Bluetooth, built-in 56K modem, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, a DVD burner, and pre-installed Windows Vista operating system. Moreover, weighs 5.3 pounds, it is also equipped with two USB ports, an eSATA/USB combo port, a 7-in-1 media card reader, VGA output port, and 6-cell battery.

Currently, three variants are available — P80A, P80Q, and P80Vc. The first model (P80A) sports an Intel GMA X4500MHD integrated graphics engine, while the second one (P80Q) comes with the basic X4500M integrated graphics, and the latter (P80Vc) with a 512MB nVidia GeForce 9300M GS graphics engine. No words on pricing and availability on each models.

LG CNS and Intel work together to develop this handy personal health monitoring system called Doctor Touch (a.k.a Intel Health PHS5000). This in-house monitor can take an eye on your health condition and check for related problems, such as diabetes, blood pressure, and any chronic diseases. It also boasts a simple user interface, along with complete help system and demo videos.

Couple days ago, together with Prime Note Galleria MV, the Japan manufacturer Dospara unleashed a new Centrino 2-ready laptop, Prime Note Galleria MT. It is powered by a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 CPU, a 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB of hard drive, and a 256MB nVidia GeForce 9300M GS graphics engine. Moreover, the notebook is equipped with a 14.1-inch widescreen display with WXGA (1280×800) resolution, a DVD SuperMulti burner, and WiFI connectivity.

Dospara Prime Note Galleria MV laptop is scheduled to hit the store in early August with a price tag of €700 or about $1,106.

Powered by a 2.53GHz Intel COre 2 Duo T9400 processor (one of the new Centrino 2 processor familly), LG R510 laptop features a Mobile Intel PM45 Express chipset, a 256MB nVidia GF9300M GS graphics engine, a 4GB of DDR2 main memory, a SuperMulti DVD burner, and a 250GB of hard drive. It runs on Windows Vista Home Premium operating system and comes under a nice black-colored hood with ‘Sunrise Gradation’ pattern. Other stuff you should consider are Smart Recovery function, HDMI, and e-SATA ports.

HP recently unleased the new Compaq 2730p Business Tablet PC in the Korea market. Featuring the brand new Centrino 2 platform, the laptop is packed with a 1.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo L9400 vPro processor, a Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset, a 2GB of DDR2 main memory, a 120GB of hard drive, a 12.1-inch WXGA display with Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics engine, WiFI connectivity, and Windows Vista Business operating system. No words on pricing though.

Priced at €925 (about $1,462), the new Prime Note Galleria MV laptop from Dospara is powered by the new Intel Core 2 Duo P9500 (2.53GHz) processor, one of the CPU under the new Intel Montevina notebook PC platform. It comes with a 15.4-inch widescreen (WXGA+, 1440×900) display and boasts a 512MB nVidia GeForce 9600M graphics engine, a 2GB of DDR2 main memory, a 160GB of hard drive, a DVD SuperMulti burner, and a 802.11a/b/g WiFI connectivity.

Along with VAIO FW series, Sony also officially announced the new 13.1-inch VAIO Z line-up. Comes with a widescreen display and a high-resolution of 1600×900, this range of laptop features a Blu-Ray player, a HDMI output, a 802.11n Wireless LAN, and an optional 128GB Solid State Disk. Panasonic introduces two new Toughbook 52 series laptops — CF-52EW1AJS and CF-52EW1AAS. Both 15.4-inch notebook PC are powered by the new Intel Centrino 2 platform. To be precise, these two machines runs on 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor and Mobile Intel PM45 Express chipset. Other features include a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display, a 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics card, a 160GB of SATA hard drive, and both WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivities.

On their recent press release, Sony unveils the new VAIO FW series laptops, featuring the new Intel Centrino 2 notebook PC platform, a 16.4-inch display with Full HD resolution and XBrite-HiColor LCD technology, Blu-Ray player and even Blu-Ray recorder on some models, VAIO Media Software, and DLNA media sharing application. Price ranged from $1,149.99 up to $2,149.

Lenovo is going to update its portfolio with four new members of Ideapad-series laptops — the 14.1-inch Y430, 15.4-inch Y530, 17.1-inch Y730, and 13.3-inch U330. We’ll focus on the IdeaPad U330 this time because it sports the new notebook PC platform from Intel, Centrino 2 a.k.a Montevina. Come along the new processor, the compact 2.2cm thick machine features a HDMI interface, a built-in optical drive, an integrated webcam, and a touch-sensitive media controls.

These new line of IdeaPad will hit the store in Fall 2008.
