Vodafone has started taking pre-order for HTC Magic, the successor of HTC Dream a.k.a T-Mobile G1 Android (one of the first Google’s Android-powered handset). Scheduled to hit the store on May 5, you can get the phone for free if you take Vodafone’s £30 (or more) monthly plan. No other alternative purchase option at the moment, neither information regarding worldwide release. According to HTC’s website, Magic features a 528Mhz Qualcomm MSM7201a CPU, Google Adroid OS, a 512MB of ROM and 192MB of RAM, a 3.2-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display with 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution, HSDPA/WCDMA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE network, built-in GPS navigation, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFI, an integrated 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, microSD slot, digital compass, and media player. Measures 113 x 55 x 13.65mm and weighs 118.5 grams, it comes with a Li-Ion battery that provides up to 400 minuts of talktime and up to 660 hours of standby time.

Verizon Wireless finally start selling HTC’s latest high-end smartphone, the HTC Touch Diamond. Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, the handset features a 2.76-inch touchscreen display, an integrated 3.2 megapixel camera, pre-installed Opera web browser, and microSD media card slot (up to 16GB supported). But of course, the best thing available on HTC’s Touch series is always the innovative TouchFLO 3D user interface and don’t worry, you can expect this gorgeous eye candy to be included as well on Touch Diamond. Other features include Visual Voice Mail, VZ Navigator, Mobile IM, and email.

HTC Touch Diamond smartphone can be purchased for $299.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate.

T-Mobile finally officially announced G1 smartphone, the first cell phone powered by Google Android operating system. Expected to hit the store with a price tag of $179, this black-colored handset (white and brown flavour are also available) comes with anything you want to beat your neighbour’s iPhone 3G. To mention a few: a touch-sensitive display, QWERTY keyboard, WiFI connectivity, and sexy design. It also packs a bunch of Google apps and services, such as Google Maps with StreetView, GMail, and YouTube; as well as ‘Android Market’, a dedicated place where G1 users can find and download applications to expand and personalize their phone.

G1 cell phone is developed by HTC of Taiwan and scheduled to make its debut on October 22. UK will receive the same handset in November, while most European will get them in the first quarter of 2009.

While most phone manufacturers race to deliver hi-tech PDA phone, HTC decides to go the old-fashioned way with a non-touchscreen 2.4-inch (QVGA) display and a Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard OS. Fortunately, HTC S740 still has a nice integrated GPS module, 3G support, WiFI, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, and a 3.2 megapixel camera module. The combination between QWERTY keyboard and keypad is awesome too, making it simple to those who just want to make a quick phone call. If only S740 comes with touchscreen display and WM6.1 Pro.

Other features include a 256MB flash memory, a microSD card slot, and HTC ExtUSB (miniUSB + audiojack combo). HTC S740 PDA phone measures 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3mm and weighs 140 grams (incl. battery).

HTC presents another PDA phone featuring the company’s innovative TouchFLO interface, the Touch Cruise. Displayed at Computex 2008, the sleek handset sports a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, an integrated 3 megapixel camera module with autofocus, a secondary VGA camera for video telephony purpose (yes, 3G is supported), and built-in GPS capabilities. Runs on GPRS/EDGE/GSM network, the phone also supports HTC Home service that provides a host of important information, including real-time weather updates and a large clock, as well as a quick application launcher and easy acces to ringtone setting.

HTC brings on another wonderful PDA phone, the HTC Touch Pro. Yes, it’s the successor of HTC Touch, and if you remember, that phone is already awesome. So can you even imagine how cool this new Touch Pro? Well, here are some clues: Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, a 2.8-inch VGA display with touchscreen user interface and HTC TouchFLO’s 3D interface, an integrated 3.2 megapixel camera module, a 512MB of onboard memory, a 288MB of RAM, a microSD card slot, built-in GPS functionalities, TV output, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 1350 mAh battery. Wow!

HTC could be the next big company in mobile communication industry, especially cell phone / PDA. They released a lot of interesting handset lately, such as HTC Touch, which features a unique, innovative interface, the TouchFLO. AT&T has just launched its new 3G smartphone “AT&T Tilt” in U.S market last week. Designed by HTC, Tilt is AT&T’s first Windows Mobile 6-based handset. It adopts full QWERTY keyboard for convenient message typing and features a 2.8-inch display, a 3.2 megapixel camera module with autofocus, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity with A2DP technology, push-email, UMTS/HSDPA network, and microSD card slot (up to 32GB is supported). Regarding display, the screen can be tilted up to position the screen perfectly for reading and creating e-mail, browsing online, using applications or just playing videos and games.

AT&T Tilt PDA Phone also comes with integrated GPS receiver, supported by the latest version of TeleNav GPS Navigator. This software delivers turn-by-turn voice guidance and on-screen driving/walking direction, as well as colorful 3D moving maps, one-click rerouting, and real-time traffic information. Another handy app, TeleNav Track, is a mobile workforce management solution that includes GPS-enabled tracking, timesheets, wireless forms, navigation, job dispatching and bar code scanning.
