Yesterday Sony announced the new color variant of its Playstation 3 gaming console, the “Satin Silver”. Priced at €255 (39,800 Yen, $371), this silver PS3 will come with a 40GB of HDD and will be packed with all the features from the standard 40GB PS3 version. If interested, you can check out your nearby store on March 6. Don’t forget to bring an extra 5,500 Yen (about $51), because that would get you a brand new Silver DualShock3 controller as well.

But wait! If you want both the silver console and controller, what about a “Silver Playstation 3 Yakuza 3 Bundle”? For 47,040 Yen (or $441), you’d receive a package of silver satin’s PS3, silver-colored DS3 controller, Sega’s Yakuza 3 game, and a PS3’s Yakuza 3-themed sticker. Not a bad deal, knowing that Yakuza is an excellent title.

One more Nintendo DS news. According to its recent press release, Nintendo will soon offer a new color for Nintendo DS, “Cobalt Black”. If you purchase this one, you’d get a DS with blue color on the top and black on the bottom. Looks gorgeous, huh? The good news, you can find it on the store starting from next week. The bad news? It will be only available in North American market. How unfortunate…

Sega is going to release a new title for DS based on the latest Doraemon movie, “Doraemon No Bita to Midori No Kyojinden”. To promote the game (and the movie), the company will give away 70 Nintendo DS’s machine to lucky Doraemon and Nobita’s fans in Japan. Each DS will be pimped with a nice Doraemon theme. IMHO, from the screenshot above, it looks better than any previous “special edition” DS.

Japanese will soon be able to purchase Xbox 360 Arcade package. According to Microsoft, this package, which already released in US sometime ago, will be retailed for just $260 or about €175. The bundle will include five classic games, a wireless controller, and a 256MB memory card. Not a bad deal. But if you prefer one with Devil May Cry 4 game, you can grab the XBox 360 Devil May Cry 4 Premium Pack instead. This one would cost you $336 or €227.

Sony has just released “PS3 Best Collection”, a set of five Playstation 3’s games which will hit the Japan store next month — March 19 to be precise — with a price tag of 24 EUR in average (about 3,800 Yen). Each package will contain Ninja Gaiden Σ, FolksSoul, Resistance, Ridge Racer 7, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight. I haven’t bought PS3 yet, but I’ve heard that both Resistance and FolksSoul are awesome.

“Wi Vision” is a NES-compatible gaming console that looks like Wii. In a matter of fact, personally I think its black color with red line combination is much cooler than Wii’s white and blue combo. However, don’t expect to be able to swing your controller or steer it left and right on Wi Vision since it comes with a usual analog wireless controller. Other (poor) features include a resolution of 240×240, a 64-color capacity, and a bundle of 106-game cartridge.

Another reason to stay away from Wi Vision is that it costs you $150. While the real Wii is only a hundred bucks away, there’s no reason not to buy the real thing. Right?

Not something new, but Sony decides to show off the latest add-on for PSP, a GPS module, at CES 2008. It brings both 2D and 3D maps on your hand, as well as one more reason to carry PSP along on your travel. Not sure which maps are preloaded, but it surely packs with thousand of POIs (Points of Interests). You can also download additional city maps / guides and avoid getting lost on unknown city.

Yup, it’s true, soon Nintendo DS owners will be able to download NDS games (either full version or demos) through their Wii via broadband access, and then wirelessly transmitted them to their DS via Bluetooth. Reggie Fils-Amie, Nintendo US CEO, confirmed this news on New York Times. Not just games, additional content, such as extra levels, characters, maps, etc, will be available as well.

Let’s hope there’ll be more detail about this wonderful feature later.
