I want this. Period. This finger mouse EEM-GTMS-300BK is totally cool since I can attach it to my finger and then simply move my finger to control the mouse cursor. And yes, I really want this 800dpi optical mouse. Eventhough I don’t know its price and even the company behind the development of this unique and innovative input device, I don’t care. I just want it. Period.

Periborg Shock-C Snack Eater for Gamer

If you’re a hardcore gamers, you usually spend your day by playing your favorite games without moving from away from the TV, except to go to the bathroom. You don’t care about food, you don’t care about drink, you don’t care about sleep. Well, that’s normal, I’ve been there before. But you have to remember. If you miss your meal a lot, you’d get sick. And if you get sick, you can’t play anymore, right? Of course as a gamer you don’t want that to happen to you, do you?

Periborg (translated as Peripheral Cyborg – what a geeky company name) care about you and your potential problem, so they created the Shock-C that able to solve your health problem. It’s like a tweezer, and if you use it on your fingers, you can grab your snack using this tool without leaving your hand from the gamepad / controller.

Other purpose of using the Shock-C is you can keep your controller clean from the snack powder. However, since this big tweezer consists of spoon and fork, you can also use it to eat other kind of food, not just snack.

Hitachi’s Flora – Notebook With Finger Vein Security System

Devices with fingerprint protection are already become common nowadays. It’s proved to be secure and able to completely prevent your data from the thief. But it’s time to move on to something more secure and implement other biometric security system. Something like finger veins protection from Hitachi.

Biometrics is the biological identification of a person, including iris and retinal patterns, hand geometry, fingerprints, voice responses to challenges, and the dynamics of hand-written signatures. Biometrics are a more secure form of authentication than typing passwords or even using smart cards, which can be stolen; however, some forms have relatively high failure rates. [ source ]

The first device that uses this technology is Hitachi’s Flora notebook. So, instead of analyzing your fingerprint, it will check the veins in your finger or hand. I’m not quite understand the detail of this system from the translation, but I’ll post about it here once I understand or found another source. But maybe you can try to figure out how it works from the images below.

The Hitachi’s Flora notebook will be exhibited at iForum 2005 on November 29th.
