UFO Hayashi, famous Japanese gadget artist, has redesigned the appearance of Acer’s Aspire One netbook and make it more appealing to rich people market. Offered for at least $3,000 on eBay, the compact laptop now comes with an elegant art and a whole lots of bling-bling accessories. With the current economic situation, I definitely don’t want to buy one… well actually, I don’t even want to buy the ‘normal’ Aspire One since many reviews said that it has such a crappy perfomance… I’ll stick with my Wind U100 netbook as well as its stupid WiFI receiver…

Aspire 3935 is another new laptop from Acer. Comes with a compact 13.3-inch display (16:9 aspect ratio), the notebook features the latest generation of Intel processor, up to 4BG of main memory, Dolby sound system, an integrated webcam module, optional fingerprint biometrics reader, multi-gesture touchpad, and Smart Power function that optimize the machine’s power consumption, thanks to the company’s proprietary power-on-demand technology. Users can choose either a traditional HDD or SSD for their storage, however, no detail how much capacity packed on each option. Moreover, the laptop has a wide-range of connectivity options, which include Bluetooth, USB, WiFI, WiMAX, and even 3G connectivities. Not bad for sure!

Along with Aspire 3935, Acer also announced the new Aspire 8935 and Aspire 5935 laptops. The former has an 18.4-inch display and the latter has 15.6-inch display. Both specs are similar to Aspire 3935, except that Aspire 8935 supports up to 1TB of HDD, while Aspire 5935 supports up to 500GB of HDD.

Acer is pretty busy lately. They have several new products waiting in line to be announced this early April. One of them is this all-in-one PC named Aspire Z5600. Boasts a large 24-inch touchscreen LCD, the computer is set with the latest generation of Intel processor, the latest generation of MXM graphic processor, up to 2TB of storage, built-in TV tuner, an integrated webcam, and a DVD or Blu-Ray combo. According to the company, Z5600 is ready for the next generation of Windows operating system, the Windows Seven. What do you think?

Writing about this all-in-one PC makes me remember that my own desktop PC is broken. Don’t know why, but it won’t start itself up. I guess its power supply crashed, but I’m still too lazy to check it. Maybe when that computer is totally dead, I’ll replace it with Aspire Z5600 or any of its siblings…

Two days ago, Acer announced its new laptop series under the Aspire sub-brand, the Acer Aspire Timeline, which combines perfomance, mobility, connectivity, and entertainment, without sacrificing the machine’s weight and dimension (only 23.4mm thicks). In a matter of fact, Timeline also offers more efficient and less power consumption, thus providing more than eight hours of battery life per full charge! If it’s true, Timeline is a truly dream machine for people like me who mostly works outdoors. However, to obtain this incredible feature, you have to first activate Acer’s Smart Power function. Once activated, it will do its best to extend the laptop’s battery life by using on-demand system (no unnecessary waste of energy).

Regarding hardware, Acer Aspire Timeline series laptop features Intel Core 2 Duo ultra low voltage (ULV) processor and Intel Display Power Savings Technology (Intel DPST) that reduces display backlight with minimum visual impact, saving up to 33% energy compared to typical notebooks. As a result, the system efficiency is greatly increased, reducing power consumption and boosting battery life by up to 40%. It also comes with a built-in cooling technology that is developed together with Intel. Through the addition of louvers to the inlet vents, the cooling air flow is redirected along the bottom side of the notebook chassis, putting fresh air precisely where it’s needed to better cool the skin.

Sounds good so far? Well, one of Timeline configuration include an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 (1.4Ghz) processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 main memory, up to 500GB of hard drive (or 80GB of SSD), a DVD Super Multi drive, and up to 15.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution. Three models will be release first: Acer Aspire Timeline 3810T (13.3-inch), 4810T (14.1-inch), and 5810T (15.6-inch). Hmmm, definitely looking forward for this!

Acer AspireRevo NetTop is definitely going into my wish list — the first mini PC powered by nVidia’s ION platform which allows support for full-HD video playback as well as Blu-Ray video quality on any Atom-based machine. This wonderful platform also offers desktop PC capabilities on a compact device, including advanced graphics (it supports Microsoft DirectX 10 with advanced digital display connectivity) and impressive multimedia features, without using a lot of power consumption. As said by Dan Vivoli, nVidia’s senior vice president of marketing, “The Acer AspireRevo with our new NVIDIA ION GPU is so small and powerful it’s unbelievable. Watch Blu-ray movies1 and HD movie trailers, or clean up jerky, dim cell phone videos for internet streaming. This is the perfect PC for today’s consumers.“.

Comes with Intel Atom 230 processor, Acer’s AspireRevo compact PC features a 4GB of main memory, a 250GB of hard drivee, a true-fidelity 7.1-channel audio system, a HDMI and VGA output, a 4-in-1 media card reader, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and USB 2.0 interface. It is also equipped with Windows Vista Home Premium OS that will fully unleashed AspireRevo’s potential.

Following the Japan release, Acer’s Aspire One Netbook has finally arrived on US shores. Right now, the UMPC is available in two color variants: Sapphire Blue and Seashell White colors. Don’t like ‘em? Don’t worry, the company plans to release another two flavours later — the Golden Brown and Diamond Black. And once again, right now, there are three different models of Aspire One, with price ranged from $379 up to $449. Acer Japan yesterday announced its brand new Atom-based UMPC, Aspire One. Measures 249 x 170 x 29mm and weighs at just 1.1kg, the 8.9-inch (WSVGA, led backlight) mini laptop offers a 1.60GHz N270 Atom processor, a 1GB of main memory (512MB onboard), an integrated 0.3MP webcam, a 120GB o hard drive, Ethernet port, memory card reader, and a 802.11b/g WiFI connectivity.

No words on the exact release date, but Aspire One will be available in black and white color once it releases.

Acer is going to release the 8.9-inch Aspire One Mini Notebook PC in North America market starting from the third quarter of 2008. Powered by an Intel Atom processor, the laptop features a 512MB / 1GB of main memory, an 8GB of NAND flash storage module or an 80GB of hard drive, a 5-in-1 media card reader, and a display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 and LED backlight. Rumor also said that it’d come with built-in webcam module, a 95% full-size keyboard with touchpad, a 802.11b/g WiFI connectivity, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, a VGA output, and a SD media card slot.

Acer Aspire One Mini Laptop will run on either Linpus Linux Lite or Windows XP Home edition operating system.

Acer’s first two Penry-powered laptops have finally hit the U.S shelves. You can now purchase either Acer Aspire AS5920-6574 or AS7720-6604 notebook PCs for $1,199.99 and $1,349.99 respectively at NewEgg. Both features a wide-range of connectivity options, including 802.11a/b/g/draft N WiFI, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, integrated 56K modem, 4 x USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a 5-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, and infra-red. These two laptops will be equipped with VGA and S-Video outputs, along with built-in webcam, a 1280×800 display, and a Dolby Home Theater sound system with built-in two speakers and a subwoofer.

Onto the detail, Acer Aspire AS5920-6574 sports a 15.4-inch monitor, an Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.1GHz) processor, a 3GB of main memory, a DVD burner, a 512MB nVidia GeForce 8600M GT graphics engine, a 250GB of hard drive, and a pre-installed Windows Vista Home Premium edition OS. The specs of the Aspire AS7720-6604 laptop isn’t much different, except a 17-inch display, a 320GB of storage, and a Windows Vista Ultimate OS.

Acer showcased “Aspire X3600″ mini PC during Computex 2007 event in Taipei. Despite its compact form factor, X3600 is a full-featured entertainment PC powered by Intel ViiV technology. Combined with the powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processor and Intel G33 graphics engine, this computer can deliver an enhanced experience for networked home multimedia system. The included 2GB of DDR2 main memory ensures the perfomance of the PC, while the onboard 7.1-channel audio system provides a pure and super-clear theater-like music to your ear. Other features include Intel ICH9-DH chipset, MXM (Mobile PC Express Module), and Acer Arcade Live that brings multimedia-savvy applications with tremendous creative capabilities.
