Virtual-Hideout recently posted a review for Asus Blitz Formula and Blitz Extreme series motherboard. Both boards utilize Intel P35 chipset and support the whole Intel Core 2 family (Quad / Extreme / Duo), as well as previous Pentium 4 series processors. The difference between Blitz Formula and Extreme is that the former uses DDR2 SDRAM, while the latter supports the faster DDR3 main memory. Priced at around $1169, Toshiba’s 42-inch HDTV, “Regza 42X3000P”, features a contrast ratio of 6000:1, a brightness of 500cd/m2, an aspect ratio of 16:9, a response time of 8ms, and a resolution of 1920×1080p. It adopted an active backlight control, along with PIXEL PROcessing III PRO, 3D color management and Cross Color Noise Suppression engines; promising sharp and clear images on the screen. Moreover, the HD-Ready TV is also equipped with 2 x HDMI ports, analogue / component / RGB connectors, and 2 x 20W build-in speakers with SRS WOW sound processing engine.

While searching for a dual-mode cell phone (yes, I want one with both GSM and CDMA ready), I found out that three sim-cards handset is even existed! Fortunately, they aren’t expensive, since all of the threesome phone I can find — X668, X728, and ZTC 830 — are manufactured by some China-based company. The bad news, you can’t expect high-end features inside as only the standard communication and multimedia capabilities are included. Now let’s check the detail one by one, shall we?

X668 Cell Phone

Supporting dual-band GSM (900/1800), X668 cell phone sports a 3-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 176 x 220 and handwriting recognition, an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera module, polyphonic ringtone, SMS/MMS, and a built-in MP3/MP4 player. It doesn’t have free onboard memory, but it does come with TransFlash card slot (256MB card included), allowing users to store their data or media files externally. Regarding battery, it can last for up to 72 hours standby time or up to 8 hours talk time.

X668 cell phone is currently retailed for $144.97.

X728 Cell Phone

To make a long story short, just add a Bluetooth 2.0 functionality to X668, and you’ll get X728 cell phone. The design is slighly better too. But for that small enhancement, you have to take $155.25 out of your pocket.

ZTC 830 Cell Phone

ZTC 830 has almost similar specs than above model, X728. It has Bluetooth, dual-band GSM support, media player, Transflash media card slot, touchscreen, etc. However, this phone, priced at $162, is the most beautiful one on the trio, IMHO.

Conclusion

Honestly, I don’t have any experience with “made-in China” handset. I know that I can’t expect much after-sales support for the product, but my main awareness is whether the phone would last long or not. Anybody want to share their experience?

I4U recently pushed a review about Intel’s Core 2 Duo E6750 processor on their website (link below). This LGA775-based processor is manufactured using 65nm technology and uses a 65W thermal power design as well as a 72 degree Celcius thermal specification. E6750 is Intel’s first CPU that takes advantage of 1333MHz FSB (Front Side Bus). Other features include a 4MB L2 cache, enhanced halt state (C1E), enhanced Intel Speedstep technology; execute disable bit, Intel EM64T, Intel thermal monitor 2, and Intel virtualization technology.

If you are looking for a processor to be the brains of your new gaming machine, but don’t want to break the bank the E6750 is a great option. You will want to be sure if you opt for the Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 that your mainboard supports the 1333MHz FSB speed.
