If you check your iPhone, you’ll find out that there’s an iPod app lies on the Home screen. Here goes the guide for using the iPod application:

1. Finding songs in the iPod app can be done in various ways, via Playlists, Artists, or Songs. Tap More to browse Albums, Audiobooks, Compilations, Composers, Genres, and Podcasts. Once you’ve found a song, simply tap its name to play it.
2. You’ll notice a Play/Pause button which is straightforward. Tap and hold the forward and back buttons to skim inside a song, while single tapping takes you to the next or previous song. The slider controls the volume, as do the volume button.
3. Tap the album cover to reveal some extra features when you’re playing a track. Tap rotate icon to repeat the selected track or song list, use the scrubber bar to skip to a particular point in a song, or you can shuffle through your songs with the button on the right. You can build a playlist of similar music by tapping the atom-like Genius button in the middle so long as you have enabled Genius in iTunes 8.
4. Cover Flow view in the iPod application is one of the coolest things about the iPhone. While a song is playing, simply turn your iPod on its side and you can browse through your albums via their artwork. To see the tracks on an album, just tap its cover.

Want to sync your iPhone contacts and calendars with those on your computer?

1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC. iTunes will open up. Once your iPhone appears in the Devices list, click on it, then click on the Info tab in the main window. Choose how to sync your info. If you don’t use MobileMe, you’re done for now.
2. MobileMe requires more setting up. Armed with your username and password, sync your PC or Mac data with MobileMe. On a Mac, go to System Preferences > MobileMe (or .Mac on older systems). If you’re using PC, you’ll find MobileMe preferences in Control Panel.
3. Once your account is all set up, it’s easy to sync data between your iPhone and your MobileMe account on your computer. On your iPhone, tap on Settings from the Home screen. Make sure the Fetch New Data option is set to Push. Then in Mail, Contacts, Calendars tap on Add Account and add your MobileMe account details if you haven’t done so already.
4. Click on your MobileMe account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars then ensure all the sliders are set to On. Be aware that this will overwrite the contact and calendars already on your iPhone, so make sure you followed step number two.

In iTunes on your iPhone, go to the Info pane and you can choose to overwrite your contacts, calendars, or bookmarks with those from your computer on the next sync, handy if you’ve restored from a backup. If you’re using MobileMe, just turn the syncing for the affected date type off, wait a little while then turn it back on.

Playing videos in the iPod app is just like playing YouTube videos, which we go into in more detail later, so let’s focused on playing songs for now. Here, though, you can play music videos, ripped movies, and content purchased from the iTunes Store, all synced to your iPhone using iTunes. It’s also possible to delete videos from your iPhone to save space. In the Videos list, just swipe your finger from left to right over a video and then tap the Delete button that appears.

One final tip with videos and songs: you can get your iPhone to power off after a certain time when playing videos or songs. From the Home screen, choose Clock > Timer. Choose a time, then set When Timer Ends to Sleep iPod and start watching your video. Nice huh?

See the object on the picture above? No, not the one on the right, but that shiny white thing on the middle. It’s called “Aqua Tune V2 Nano” and it is responsible to keep your iPod Nano safe from dust, water (down to 1 metres max for up to 30 minutes), accidental drop, and scratch. Land Rover will debut its new LRX concept car at upcoming Detroit Auto Show event next month. This would be an interesting vehicle for geeks since it comes with an iPhone dock at the center of its console. Apple has finally brought Sega’s all time favourite’s Sonic The Hedgehog game onto iPod. If you own either the new iPod Nano, iPod Classic, or the fifth-generation iPod, you can purchase and download this iPod’s first true action-platforming game through iTunes Store for just $4.99. Once downloaded, you can start race that blue hedgehog around the track, making his way through a world of robotic creatures and traps, trying to save woodland animals from cyborg enslavement. To control Sonic, you can use the Click Wheel which Sega has converted into a four-way controller, with a single button for jumping and spinning.

Apple recently announced the launch of new “iPod Touch” and 3G-version of “iPod Nano” in Korea market. Measures 110 x 61.8 x 8mm and weighs at just 120 grams, iPod Touch features a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, built-in WiFI connectivity, and YouTube playback. Of course, all the standard iPod functions are supported as well. As for playback, it provides up to 22 hours of music and up to 5 hours of video. iPod Touch is expected to hit the shelves by the end of September with a suggested price of 324,000 (KRW) for 8GB version and 434,000 (KRW) for 16GB version.

As for the new version of iPod Nano (picture below), it adds 3G functionality to the standard iPod Nano features (2-inch display, iPod click wheel, MPEG4 & H.254 support). Its battery could lasts for up to 24 hours of music playback and up to 5 hours of video playback. Measures 52.3 x 69.8 x 5mm and weighs 49.2 grams, it is available in two capacity variants: 4GB and 8GB. Price is set at 165,000 (KRW) and 225,000 (KRW) respectively. Each will be released in four different flavours: silver, black blue, green, and red.

Apple has just announced the release of the 6th generation of iPod Classic in global market. This new iPod boasts an all-metal case and either 80GB ($249) or 160GB ($349) of HDD. The 80GB one can last for up to 30 hours (music) / 6 hours (video), while the larger 160GB version can play music for up to 40 hours and video for up to 7 hours continuously. Other features, including display (2.5-inch) and supported formats (AAC, MP3, WAV, MP4, H.264), aren’t much different than its predecessors.

Oh and FYI, iPod Classic 80GB measures 103.5 x 61.8 x 10.5mm and weighs 140 grams, while iPod Classic 160 measures 103.5 x 61.8 x 13.5mm and weighs 162 grams.
