Fujitsu updates its FMV-TEO series desktop PC with the new TEO-A90D and TEO-A70D models. Both running AMD Puma platform, but the former, priced at €1200 (around $1850), is more superior with a 2GHz AMD Turion X2 RM-70 processor, a 2GB of main memory, an AMD M70G chipset, a 750GB of hard drive. As for TEO-A70D, it sports a 500GB HDD and DVD Super-Multi burner. This one is retailed for €900 (around $1333).

In addiiton, Fujitsu FMV-TEO TEO-A90D and TEO-A70D Desktop PCs features a HDMI interface, a built-in digital TV tuner, 802.11b/g WiFI connectivity, 6 USB ports, 3-in-1 memory card reader (SD/SDHC/Memory Stick Pro), and HD support.

MSI PR-210 is another laptop powered by the new AMD Puma notebook PC platform. Puma sports AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile technology and ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 1270 graphics engine. Not much detail about the laptop, except that it comes with a 12.1-inch Crystal Vision widescreen display, USB, card reader, and Windows Vista operating system.

AMD show off the new laptop from Toshiba which is powered by AMD’s new notebook PC’s platform, Puma. Puma platform combines the power of AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile processor with the impresive ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series graphics engine that offers superb 3D perfomance and HD image quality. In addition, there’s a built-in WiFI connectivity attached on this unnamed 13.3-inch (widescreen) laptop. From the photos (above and below), I believe we can also expect other general goodies, such as USB interface, DVD burner, card reader, etc.

Sharp presents two sexy and stylish laptops, the PC-FW70X and PC-FW50X. These two 15.4-inch (1280×800) notebook PCs, available in black and white, are powered by an AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58 and Mobile Sempron 3600+ processors. Both come with an UV coated case, protecting the machine from Ultra Violet ray, as well as WiFI connectivity, a DVD SuperMulti burner, a 120G of hard drive, and a 2GB of main memory.

Other features include a 50 minute (huh?!) and 1.1 hours of battery life or PC-FW50X and PC-FW70X laptops.

MSI presents the latest Megabook laptop, the “Megabook PR210X-YA“. Powered by AMD Turion X2 processor (up to 1.9GHz), this 12-inch notebook boasts up to 3GB of main memory and up to 160GB of hard drive. The rest of the features are pretty much standard, such as DVD burner, USB, WiFI, etc.

Once again NEC unveils a special yet limited LaVieG laptop, the Ragnarok edition. Like its LaVieG Hello Kitty, this notebook PC comes with Ragnarok’s art on its front cover. Ragnarok itself is a popular MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) developed by a Korean game company named GRAVITY Co., Ltd. It was first released in South Korea on 31 August 2002 for Microsoft Windows and has since been released in many other locales around the world. Much of the game’s mythos is based on Norse mythology, but its style has been influenced by Christianity and various Asian cultures as well.

Regarding specs, the features are not as good as the game though. It is powered by an AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-21 (1.6GHz) processor and an 80GB hard drive. The 15.4-inch display has a resolution of 1280×768 which is supported by an ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 graphics engine.

Digital Greentech, a Korean retailer of ASUS, unveiled the latest AMD-based motherboard from ASUS, the M2N-E. Features include an nVidia nForce 570 Ultra MCP (Media and Communications Processor), 4 x 240-pin DIMM and supports max. 8GB DDR2 800/667/533 ECC, non-ECC, un-buffered memory, 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, and 1 x PCI Express x4 slot for expansion. It also incorporated AMD’s power consumption management technology ‘Cool’n'Quiet’ that promises to keep the heat to the minimum level.

On its recent press release, Averatec announces its newest laptop, the AV7170-EC1, which is also its first attempt to join the dual-core laptop market. As the company’ debut, the laptop is powered by an AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50 (1.6GHz) processor, 1GB of DDR2 (expandable up to 2GB), and 100GB of SATA HDD. The 17-inch WXGA+ LCD display with AveraBrite is supported by nVidia GeForce Go 6100 graphics engine, while Kensington Lock Slot and BIOS system password protection take care of the security. For connecting with the online world (or other PCs/devices), the AV7170-EC1 laptop provides 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and integrated 56K modem.

Housed inside 15.5 x 10.9 x 1.0 ~ 1.37 inch hood that weighs 7.2 pounds, the notebook is also equipped with dual-layer DVD/CD burner, three USB 2.0 ports, Type II PCMCIA/CardBus slot, microphone and headphone jack, external display output, and 5-in-1 memory card reader (xD/MS/MS PRO/MMC/SD). Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system will be pre-installed on the system, along with a full trial version of Phoenix FirstWare Recover Pro software that stores user data, applications and the operating system in the secure, host-protected area (HPA) of the hard drive.

Averatec AV7170-EC1 laptop will soon be available exclusively at Costco stores nationwide with a price tag of $1,150.

Of course, it’s admirable that AMD is keeping both chips alive and giving enthusiasts a much-desired choice. Both the Athlon 64 FX-57 and Athlon 64 FX-60 continue to dominate the game tests, easily muscling past Intel’s most advanced effort. Given the last two high-end processor launches, it’s pretty clear that Intel will need its re-architected Conroe core before it will be able to hang with AMD at the high-end.
