AIMonPSP – AIM Client For Your PSP

I want a PSP (Playstation Portable), but I haven’t bought it yet since the price for this portable gaming console (and its games) is still too high for me. Anyway, if you’re lucky enough to already have one, here’s one more thing that would make you love your PSP more and more. The AIMonPSP is a new free service that lets you (and other PSP users) to log into your AIM accounts and send instant message to your friends, as well as receive message from them. You don’t have to download anything and install it to your PSP since this service runs directly from their server. Also, instead of using Flash or Java, this service uses JavaScript to open up a new window. It takes advantage of PHPTocLib, a PHP library that connects to the AOL servers.

AIMOnPSP is an AOL Instant Messenger client for the Sony Playstation Portable. The purpose of this project was to make a web-based AIM client that can be used in almost any browser that supports JavaScript (such as the one included in the new PSP firmware); it uses no Java or Flash. AIMOnPSP is a free service and runs from our server which means that you don’t have to download anything or load anything onto your PSP in order to use it.

AIM Ad Hack

If you’re using MSN Messenger, there’s a nice little software named A-Patch that has the ability to remote MSN Messenger ad and also tweak other MSN Messenger features, including removing some features that you don’t like or you never use. But what if you’re using AIM or AOL Instant Messenger?

Fortunately, AIM Ad Hack is here. Like the A-Patch, AIM Ad Hack is capable to remove the (annoying) ad from your AIM window. It supports both the stable version of this instant messenger (v5.9) and the beta version of the new AIM, Triton (v0.6).

Aside from removing the ad, AIM Ad Hack also able to tweak your AIM application. Click here for the full features list of this software.

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) – Triton Beta 0.5.21 Released

A new version of AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) Triton Beta edition comes out. Mostly fixes bugs found on the previous version. AIM is free instant messenger software from American Online, one of the biggest internet provider in US. By using instant messenger software, you can talk to your friend from around the world, in real time. All you need is a computer (duh!) and an internet connection.

All you need is an internet connection. In the last two weeks, other popular instant messenger software have released a new version, such as Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Skype. Display WinAmp Current Playing Song on Instant Messenger

WinAmp is one of the most popular MP3 (and other media file format too) player software for Windows. With its support to plugin developer, WinAmp is also very flexible. These days, there are many kind of plugins for WinAmp available. Make WinAmp more and more powerful. Not just as its traditional feature for playing MP3, but also for wider range of purpose.

If you’re using instant messenger, you might want to display you’re WinAmp currently playing song on your instant messenger status. This way, your friend might get to know you better since they’ll see what song you’re currently listening (which probably your favourite songs). You can also tease your friends by playing some rare songs or the newest single from your friend’s favourite singer :p

Fortunately, now there are already a bunch of plugins for WinAmp outthere that make displaying current playing song on instant messenger status possible. Here are some of them.

For Yahoo! Messenger, I’m using WA2Y – YM Status Changer v0.96. It’s one of the plugin for Yahoo! Messenger that really works. I’ve tried two other plugins with no success before I ended up with WA2Y. It’s highly customizable too. You can change the status format (how WinAmp current playing song displayed on YM status message) and the type of status for YM if you quit WinAmp.

Next, MSN Messenger. My choice is MSN Messenger 7 Current Playing Song. Eventhough the title of this plugin is long, but this one installed without any problem at all. No configuration dialog too. Simply install and play.

You can also display your current playing song on mIRC and other IRC client, I’ll post about that later :p
