Along with the 3000 V100 laptop, Lenovo also announced the new 3000 C200 notebook. Powered by Intel’s Core 2 Duo T5500 processor (or opt-in for Celeron M 420 CPU), the 15-inch C200 is equipped with an Intel 945GM Express, an Intel GMA 950 graphics engine with up to 128MB of shared memory, up to 2 gigs of RAM, either 40GB or 80GB of 5,400rpm HDD, and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG WiFI connection.

Weighs 6.39lbs, Lenovo 3000 C200 laptop also comes with four USB 2.0 ports, Firewire port, VGA port, S-Video TV-out terminal, integrated modem, and PC Card slot. No Bluetooth, but at least Gigabit Ethernet LAN is supported. Furthermore, the machine runs on Windows XP Professional or Home Edition and has a battery life of 2.52 hours. According to the Lenovo’s announcement letter, the laptop will become available in the US starting from October 31st. The base configuration will be retailed for $650.

Lenovo announced an update of its 3000 series laptops. Both 3000 V100 and C200 notebooks now have the power of Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Let’s talk about the V100 first. Apart from the compatiblity with Core 2 Duo T5500, T5600, and T7200 CPUs, the 12.1-inch machine is equipped with a Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset, an integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics engine, Intel PRO/Wireless chipset, up to 2GB of RAM, and up to 100GB of HDD.

Beside the WiFI connectivity, Lenovo 3000 V100 laptop also comes with Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, and integrated 56K fax/modem. Other features packed on this 4.32lbs notebook include a dual-layer DVD burner drive, three USB ports, VGA port, Firewire port, a 5-in-1 media card reader, and a battery life of 2.20 hours with 3-cell battery (or up to 4.24 hours with a 6-cell battery). Runs on either Windows XP Professional or Home Edition operating system, 3000 V100 is planned to hit the store in October 31st with a price tag of $999 (base config).

Another review from PCMag is about the newest laptop from Lenovo under its 3000 series, the V100 model. This ultra-portable 12.1-inch laptop features an Intel Core Duo T2500 (2GHz) processor, 1GB of RAM, 100GB of HDD, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, and DVD+R DL drive. Weighs 4.4 lbs, the V100 notebook supports WiFI connectivity and operates under Windows XP Professional operating system. Furtermore, it has a nice ThinkPad-like keyboard and built-in biometrics fingerprint reader for enhaced security. The price is $1,649.00.
