With just 19.5mm thick, Toshiba’s latest laptop under its Satellite saga, the “Dynabook SS RX1″, offers a nice combination between a small yet strong device and a powerful machine. The laptop can survive accidental drop from up to 4 foot height as well as accidental water drip for up to 100cc, thanks to the incorporation of unit support structural design and Toshiba HDD protection. Two new laptops from Toshiba coming today, both under the Dynabook SS series. The first is the Dynabook SS M36 notebook. Measures 299 x 225 x 34mm and weighs 1.9kg, it is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 CPU, a 512MB of RAM, a 40GB of hard drive, a DVD/CD-RW combo burner, and WiFI support. The machine has a small 12.1-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 and Clear SuperView technology, thus making it very compact and easy to carry along.

Several new laptops under the Dynabook Satellite range has been unveiled by Toshiba Japan. Some of them are the Satellite K15 and K10 models. Let’s talk about the K15 first. This laptop is equipped with an Intel 945GM Express chipset, 512MB of RAM (expandable up to 2GB), 15.4-inch WXGA (1280×800) LCD display, Intel GMA 950 with up to 128MB of shared system memory, WiFI connectivity, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, 40GB of RAM, and DVD/CD-RW combo drive. It also has a USB 2.0 port, SD card reader, S-Video, D-Sub, and Type 2 PC slot. Measures 368 x 268 x 29.8 mm and weighs 3kg, you can choose between an Intel Core Duo T2500 2.0GHz (P/N: K15 200D/W) or Core Duo T2300 1.66Ghz (P/N: K15 166D/W) processor to power the notebook. The price is, respectively, 249,900 Yen and 202,650 Yen.

And here’s another (poor) laptop from Toshiba that is powered by a (poor) Celeron processor, the Dynabook Satellite AW5 series. Priced at just 900 EUR, the laptop offers a 15-inch WXGA LCD screen, 512MB of RAM (expandable up to 2GB), 60GB of SATA HDD, DVD/DL burner, and of course, Intel’s Celeron M410 processor. Sounds not interesting, huh? Well, fortunately, you can opt-in for a Core Duo T2300 processor and more HDD space. Not sure about the detail specs of that dual-core version.

Toshiba’s has released its new Dynabook Satellite laptop, the CW1 series. There are 4 specs variants, but let’s just check the lowest one. The 14-inch laptop comes with a Celeron M410 (1.46GHz) processor, 512MB of RAM, 40GB of SATA HDD, and a DVD/CDRW combo drive. Of course since it’s “just” a Celeron, you only have to spend 690 EUR (or 97,800 Yen) if you (really) want to buy it. But tell me, with all the new dual-core’s laptops outthere, who’d bother buying a Celeron’s laptop?
