This rumor has spread over the blogosphere recently. It’s due to the fact that T-Mobile, the developer of highly-popular Sidekick phone, has just registered two new domains, sidekickle.com (Sidekick LE?) and sidekicklx.com (Sidekick LX?). T-Mobile has just officially released SideKick iD, the downgraded version of Sidekick 3 cell phone. Called SKiD, this handset retains almost all the good stuff found on Sidekick 3, including impressive instant messaging capabilities (AIM, YM, and Windows Live), text messaging, HTML web browser, wireless email, full QWERTY keyboard, and trackball. It even has better battery life with up to 5.3 hours of talktime and 6 days of standby time. What missing are the built-in MP3 player and camera module. Its plastic case seems to be cheaper as well.
