Toshiba Korea has just announced that Portege M500, Satellite A100, and Satellite M100 series laptops have been upgraded with the wonderful power of Merom CPU. Quick recap, Satellite A100 is a 15.4-inch notebook with enhanced AV functions and a huge 160GB of hard drive, while the Satellite M100 comes with a 14-inch widescreen display and a fast ATI Mobility Radeon X1400. Last, the Portege M500 is a compact 12.1-inch all-in-one laptop with Super Multi DVD burner. Respective, those mobile PCs are retailed for 1,690,000 (KRW), 1,640,000 (KRW), and 1,690,000 (KRW).

Gateway have just unveiled their latest laptop, the NX100X model. This thin and light notebook features a 12-inch wide-screen display with 1280×800 max resolution, Intel’s Core Solo 1.06Ghz or 1.2GHz processor (why not Dual Core??), and Intel GMA graphics chipset. Well, not quite the top of the notch for todays laptops standard. The recently release Toshiba’s Satellite M100 notebook is probably much better than this NX100X. It might be sufficient enough to run general productivity tasks like writing office document or such, but don’t expect it to work (properly) with 3D graphics editing software or advanced 3D games.

This is the recently presented laptop from Toshiba, the Satellite M100. This laptop is powered by an Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.6GHz) processor, 256MB of RAM (expandable up to 4GB), and 80GB of hard drive. Weighs at 2.26 kg, the 14.1 notebook is also equipped with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 chipset, DVD SuperMulti optical drive, 6-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. It runs under Windows XP Home Edition operating system and there’s an Express Media Player function that lets you play music and movie without having to boot into the OS. The price is around $1,531.05.
