Sony unveils several new laptops today. One is this VAIO G2 series, a stylish notebook PC featuring Intel Core 2 Duo (U7500 or U7600) processor and Solid State Disk (SSD). SSD is a data storage device that uses solid-state memory to store persistent data. SSD emulates conventional hard disk drive, thus easily replacing it in any application. With no moving parts, a solid state drive largely eliminates seek time, latency and other electro-mechanical delays and failures associated with a conventional hard disk drive. Sony offers three different choice of SSD capacity on its G2: 32GB, 48GB, and 64GB.

“TZ18GN” is Sony’s latest creation which is released under its popular VAIO brand. This laptop is using SSD (Solid State Disk) instead of standard HDD (Hard Drive Disk), thus providing faster booting speed, lighter weight (1.15kg), and longer battery life (up to 11.5 hours per full charge). Moreover, the notebook PC is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 1GB of main memory (expandable up to 2GB), and Windows Vista operating system.
