Sony α300 DSLR Camera

Sony is going to release the new α300 DSLR camera on July 17th. This 10.2 megapixel DSLR sports a 2.7-inch movable LCD display, a shutter speed of 30 - 1/4000 sec, an anti-dust system that keeps the CCD image sensor clean and clear, and the Quick AF Live View function. It incorporates the company’s proprietary BIONZ processing engine as well as Super SteadyShot image stabilization technology that enables shutter speeds 2.5 to 3.5 steps slower than otherwise possible.

Konica Minolta Retreat From Camera Business

Konica Minolta LogoOkay, this is a quite shocking news for me. Konica Minolta has recently announced that they will out of the camera and photo business. During the withdraw, all assets related to their camera business will be transfered to Sony who will continue to develop digital SLR based around the Konica Minolta lens mount. Konica Minolta itself may continue to work with Sony in the development of digital SLR’s and lenses but they will not be branded as or be sold by Konica Minolta.

Sony Cybershot DSC-R1 (Another) Review

Sony Cybershot DSC-R1 Digital CameraWe’ve previously posted a review about this Sony Cybershot DSC-R1 digital camera. But seeing the score of the latest review from PCMag about this camera makes me want to post it again. It only got 2.5 out of 5 point, not quite good for the Cybershot series that usually packed with lot of controls and features, thus always satisfy professional users. I said on the previous review that I’m sure this camera is worth the price ($999), but now I’m not so sure anymore.
