The CES 2009 will see a new Sony Vaio P series, there are only a few images and no specs yet, but what would but what would we expect to find from a top Japanese company that have probably spent a whole lot of cash on the CES.

Sony is readying an army of new VAIO laptops this month. One of them will be released to public in the next two weeks (September 20th), the VAIO Type J (VGC-JS50B/S). Powered by an Intel Dual Core E2200 (2.2GHz) processor, the notebook boasts a 20.1-inch widescreen WSXGA+ (1680×1050) display, a 2GB of main memory, a 320GB of hard drive, an Intel X4500MHD graphics engine, a built-in webcam module, a DVD SuperMulti burner, and Felica Port. Sony has just officially announced (check out the press release on the next page) the new member of its VAIO series laptop, the VAIO AR. This is the first notebook PC in the world that comes with built-in support for High-Definition Blu-Ray media, thus allowing users to watch movies in full 1080p HD resolution. This wonderful capability is supported by the 17-inch WUXGA (1920×1200) widescreen display with Sony’s XBrite Hi-Color LCD technology and 256MB nVidia GeForce Go 7600 graphics engine. If not satisfied, users would also be able to display their movies on their own HDTV, thanks to the included HDMI connector.

Two weeks ago, I mentioned about the new VAIO Type A laptop series from Sony that features a gorgeous Blu-ray disc drive. And now, here’s another model under the Type A range, the VGN-AR18LP. Apart from the Blu-Ray, this laptop offers an Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16GHz) processor, 160GB of SATA HDD (supposedly 2 x 80GB in RAID mode), NVidia GeForce Go 76700 GT graphics card with 256MB of GDDR2 SDRAM, Sound Reality Audio Chip with Dolby Digital Live support. This 17-inch notebook is also equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, integrated webcam, HDMI connector, and S/PDIF optical output. Users will get a pre-installed Blu-ray software for HD-quality and easy editing, as well as other software for SACD (Super Audio CD) playback. For the OS, Microsoft Windows XP Professional edition will be included.
