JVC is claiming the world's lightest 32-inch LCD TV here, and by the looks of this somewhat sparse press release, they're achieving that with a modular design (meaning, as many components as possible offloaded to a companion box),

While CES has yet to kick off, display manufactures are already starting to unveil new products. JVC has announced that they will be showcasing a 32 inch LCD TV which is only 7mm thick and weighs only 5kgs.

Home theater aficionados won't be disappointed with JVC's latest 32-inch LCD TV, despite measuring in at just 7mm thick. In addition to 1080p capabilities, it features LED backlighting and mercury free components.

Priced at 1250 EUR (around $1,857), JVC’s 32-inch LT-32LC305 LCD TV features a resolution of 1366×768 (WXGA), a brightness of 300cd/m2, 3 x HDMI inputs, MaxxAudio sound engine, and a 120Hz “Twice Velocity Genessa” panel. It comes with SD / SDHC media card slot as well, allowing you to plug the card and directly view the media inside. Hmmm, I’m currently looking for a 32-inch LCD TV to replace my 26-inch one, but I don’t think I’d take this LT-32LC305…

JVC New LCD TVs with Clear Motion Drive Technology

JVC has just announced its world’s first 120Hz LCD TVs for the US market earlier this week. Formerly, this super fast LCD TV is only available in Japan. Incorporated the company proprietary Clear Motion Drive technology, it is able to produce images at 120 frames per second, double the typical rate, and inserts an interpolated image. As for the result, let’s say goodbye to blurry and ghost images.

LG’s New HDD LCD TV

New HDD LCD TV From LGI guess 3 is the lucky number for this week. After three new HD Ready LCD TV from JVC we mentioned yesterday, today we have another three new LCD TV coming from LG. Recently introduced in Korea, these new LCD TVs feature a contrast ratio of 5000:1, 178 degrees viewing angle, and an average 8ms response time. To make them stand on top of similar TVs, LG also packed a 250GB HDD on them which will let you record your favourite TV programme easily without having to connect it to an external VCR or DVD Recorder. Nice.
