This will - fairly accurately imo to be honest, emulates the look of various color print, slide, black and white, and infrared film stocks. So, I'll need this if I want to manintain the RF aesthetic I so love So, that's it!
I use Panasonic TZ5 - though why I bought it I wonder now as I always prefer to have my dslr. Also got an old Sony F717 bridge that I use for infra red stuff as you can hand hold for pics with it with filters in place.
To be more specific will you better inch prints from or Megapixel camera versus Megapixel camera? Possibly, but the average person wont notice. Other cameras use infrared or laserbased focusing, but its the same result in the end.

Fuji Neopan 400 and 1600 are nice films. Current infrared films are panchromatic and WAY less sensitive than Kodak HIE was so you must use at least a #29 (deep red) filter to get an infrared effect if not an #89b (Hoya R72) filter.
I think Fuji were having a laugh when they tried to fob me of with inferior (updated) product!. But I had the last laugh.. I bought the FZ28. Just think, though, those guys with the dslr`s, how much weight they carry around
