A new WordPress plugin today: CA-ColorPicker :d

This is a simple but yet, very useful plugin (at least for me :p ) I don’t know why WordPress doesn’t include a color button on their Post/Page toolbar. I know that we can easily add the Color tag by editing quicktags.js (like this), but you still need to know the color code.

This plugin will make it easier by adding “Color” button into your toolbar which will open a color picker/browser window and you can easily choose any color to change your post’s text color. Upon clicking, it will add the color using inline CSS inside the span tag.

For example, the original post is
[code]hello world[/code]
Result: hello world

then if you highlighted “hello”, open the color picker, and choose red color (#FF0000), the post will be changed to:
[code]hello world[/code]
Result: hello world

Requirement

Since this is a WordPress plugin, of course you need WordPress Currently tested under version 1.5 (Strayhorn) and above

Installation

1-Click Install: Available using WPPM.

NOTE:
With the support of automatic install, additional plugin files on wp-admin directory are not required anymore. So, if you upgrading from v0.2 and below, please remove these files first (picker.html, picker.js, and img subdirectory).

Manual Install:

• Download the file
• Extract the file.
• Upload ca_cpicker.php into your Plugins directory
• Create a new folder named ca_cpicker inside your wp-content directory, and upload the rest of the files there (/wp-content/ca_cpicker).
• Activate the plugin from admin panel.

Usage

It couldn’t be easier. Upon editing your post/page content, simply highlighted the text you want their color to changed, then click on the “Color” button and choose the color you want. Voila! :d
