I’m currently looking for this kind of portable scanner, the one which looks like a pen. Just like the DocuPen RC800 from Planon. Recently displayed during CES 2007 event, this scanner only needs up to 5 seconds to scan 400dpi document (4 sec for 200dpi and 3 sec for 100dpi) in various modes, including 24bit image, 12bit, grayscale, and monochrome. There’s a microSD/TransFlash card slot, but the cool thing is, it also has a built-in 8MB onboard memory, thus allowing you to store up to 100 scanned pages inside.

Weighs 2oz, DocuPen RC800 Pen Scanner uses USB 2.0 connection and able to scan up to 8.07-inch width of paper. Priced at around $299.99 (or $349.99 for the Professional edition, not sure about the differences), the package is bundled with a leather case, USB cable, and installation CD.
