Pioneer S-A4SPT-VP Pure Malt Speakers

Pioneer Japan recently presented a cool-looking speakers made of whisky barrel material, the S-A4SPT-VP model. Ignore the confusing model name, instead, take a note that the whisky barrels used by the company are made from century old oak tree and the barrel is used for more than 50 years old. The result is a soft, mellow tone that lingers in the air. Furthermore, since white oak is one of the hardest woods in the world, the speaker cabinet has became extremely rigid. It suppresses unwanted cabinet vibration and enhances the driver’s performance, contributing to the superbly expressive sound.

Measures 154 x 213 x 246 mm and weighs 3.7kg, this Pioneer’s elegant speakers incoporates TAD (Techical Audio Devices) technology and features a 10cm diameter woofers, 50Hz – 40 kHz of playback frequency range, and 6 Ω impedance. It will hit the market starting from early August and will carry a price tag of approx. $420 or 48,000 Yen.
