Samsung has just announced that the US version of its 19-inch 940UX LCD monitor has been shipped. 940UX is the company’s first display that support USB as an alternate video input. According to Samsung’s technical details, the screen draws on both its own hardware as well as the CPU power of a host PC to drive the display without the use of an internal video card. You can even use your notebook to run up to six displays, as long as it has enough processing power. For those who want to go the old-fashioned way, both DVI and VGA connectors are provided as well.
Priced at $379, Samsung 940UX LCD monitor supports both Mac and Windows OS. Unfortunately, you can only use its USB connection on Windows XP-based computers.
