Speed Up Firefox Loading Time

Firefox, the open-source browser from Mozilla, probably one of the most highly-recommended browser today. It’s fast, secure, and support extension and theme. However, this browser is still not perfect yet. Other than the annoying memory-leak problem, Firefox browser also has a long loading time, compared to Internet Explorer’s loading time. While I can quickly open Internet Explorer session, I still have to wait a few seconds for Firefox to show up.
Firefox Preloader comes to save our day. It’s a small free program that will help make Firefox loads faster. Firefox Preloader works by loading parts of Mozilla Firefox into memory before it is used to improve its startup time. For maximum advantage, simply let Firefox Preloader to run when Windows start.
Firefox Preloaded adds a tray icon on your desktop tray bar. From there, you can quickly configure Firefox setting or run Firefox. You can also configure Firefox Preloader setting.

This didn’t work for me really. Im using Vista, and all this program did was keep firefox.exe running under processes and when I click on the firefox icon in the quick launch bar, nothing happened. In the tray, the firefox preloader icon had a right-click option ” Open Homepage” witch reduced loading time by about 1 second…
But pretty worthless if you can’t use the shortcut anymore…
Maybe it was just me but this didn’t really work out…
try this
Put this in your address bar “about:config”
then rightclick and add boolean
Call it “browser.turbo.enabled” and set it to true.
I think that cuts the loading time to at least half. Well usually it takes like at least 20 secs for firefox to load for me but when i used this function, it manages to make it run slightly slower than IE does but still its faster than usual.
I agree with Andrew. I have the same problem After installed PreLoader, Regular desktop shortcut of already installed FireFox does not work anymore. There is an icon in the tray bar for Preloader. I have to right click and select “Open your homepage” to launch FF. Although it launches at lightening speed after that…but absence of a desktop shortcut makes it unusable.
Another thumbs down. I want to be able to start Firefox from Quicklaunch and, if anything, it is slower with Preloader than it was before I installed it. Fine, if the tray icon is required for configuration, but why force users to us that icon also to launch FF?
