IPEVO free-1 USB phone for SkypeIPEVO joined the Skype party. Recently, they released their USB phone product, named FREE-1 USB (read: tethered) Phone, which is, regardless of the name, not free. It’s cheaper than Brando’s USB Phone for Skype though.

Skype is a free VoIP internet phone and instant messenger software from
Skype Technologies SA. Using Skype, people can make a PC-to-Phone calls via internet. Skype is currently the biggest player in the VoIP market. More information about Skype is available on their website. [ related article ]

There are three special function buttons on the phone. First, the Skype button, which will launch Skype on the PC. The second, a SkypeOut button. Pressing this button will pre-dial country codes. And the last button is, IM button. In addition, there are three user-programmable shortcut buttons for changing online status or setting the ring tone.

The IPEVO free-1 USB phone for Skype is retailed for about $27. It has been launched in Taiwan earlier this week and will be ready worldwide around October.
