IPEVO joined the Skype party. Recently, they released their USB phone product, named FREE-1 USB (read: tethered) Phone, which is, regardless of the name, not free. It’s cheaper than Brando’s USB Phone for Skype though.

Skype is a free VoIP internet phone and instant messenger software from

There are three special function buttons on the phone. First, the Skype button, which will launch Skype on the PC. The second, a SkypeOut button. Pressing this button will pre-dial country codes. And the last button is, IM button. In addition, there are three user-programmable shortcut buttons for changing online status or setting the ring tone.

The IPEVO free-1 USB phone for Skype is retailed for about $27. It has been launched in Taiwan earlier this week and will be ready worldwide around October.
