Pill Reminder Text Message Service Launched

As reported by Daily Mail, Nicola Jenning, a young businesswoman has launched a mobile texting service to help prevent forgetfulness when taking the contraceptive pill leading to unplanned pregnancies. She said that she had always set an alarm clock to remind her to take the Pill at 2pm every day, but this led to questions from other people when it went off during business meetings or lunches.
“The idea came from my own experience of trying to remember to take the Pill at the same time everyday.”
Around 3.5 million women in the UK are using the contraceptive pill. The new reminder service sends a text at a time chosen by the women every day, at a cost of 25p per text received.
