Toshiba yesterday announced its new DLP (Digital Light Processing) projector product, the TDP-S35U. Priced $699 and weighs at just 6.6lbs, this lightweight portable projector is a wonderful presentation tool for mobile professionals, educators, corporate users and small-to-medium-sized businesses who demand brilliant performance at a competitive price. Features include a 2,000 ANSI lumens, a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 (full on/full off), and native SVGA 800×600 resolution. You can also find a host of multimedia capabilities and connectivity options, like two computer inputs (dual component), composite and S-video inputs, audio in/out capabilities, and a monitor output connector. The latter lets users to view presentations from an external display in addition to what is projected on the screen, thus making it possible for the presenter to face their audience directly, rather than turning around to read slides as they appear on the screen.

Furthermore, according to Sam Malik, director of projector sales and marketing, Toshiba Digital Products Division, the TDP-S35U DLP Projector can be connected to a standard cable connection, DVD player, gaming system, and external speakers, which make the projector suitable for both business purpose as well as digital home entertainment.
