Thanko, a Japanese USB company, has started selling its new USB Radio. Using the USB Radio, you can listen to FM radio simply by plugging in your USB Radio to your PC. I’m not sure anyone would even bother to buy this product when Terratec’s USB Memory Stick TV Tuner gives both TV and FM (radio) tuner capability.
Anyway, the USB Radio connects to your PC via USB port (duh!). It uses a special tuning and recording software controlled from the PC. Compatible with Windows 2000 and XP, this device able to record from the radio directly in WAV/WMA format. You can also set the recording scheduled so it will automatically start recording in preset time.
Measures 32 x 70 mm and weighs 15 grams, the USB Radio is retail for ¥2,980.
