Plextor. One of the most reputable drive manufacturer I’ve ever known. I have one of their CDRW drive, and it’s more durable than any other CD burner I’ve ever had.
Recently, Plextor announced their new USB-powered portable DVD burner. Come in very compact form facotr (only 138 x 162 x 22.2mm thick) and also lightweight (only 450g), this optical drive is able to write dual layer DVDs at 4X, DVD±R/W at 8x, DVD-RAM at 5x, and CD-R/RW at 24x. DVDs read at 8x and CD-ROM at 24x; and DVDs read at 8x and CD-ROM at 24x. An average speed though, compared to their competitors on the market, but quality is everything, and I have my trust on Plextor.
The PX-680U DVD Burner is bundled with Nero Express 6 SE, Pinnacle utilities (Light Suite), and Plextor Pro Plextols. No words about the price yet, or at least I can’t find that info on their website.
