To be honest, I’ve never thought that this kind of hardware would ever exist. A solar-powered wireless keyboard! Coming from Buffalo Japan, the BSKBW01SB keyboard sports a small adjustable solar panel above the numpad that collects the juice. However, you can also use a battery just incase it’s been raining all day. Other features include 17 hot keys, 2.4Ghz frequency operation, and 10 meters usage range.

Retailed for 13,775 yen (about $135), Buffalo BSKBW01SB wireless keyboard will hit the Japan store in the middle of July.

These gadgets would be great if you have sufficient solar exposure. The real question will be the lag time for response. It’s often hard to use wireless keyboards accurately due to lag time.
