I had a great time playing this console and video game system. The wireless controls are easy to use and if you have rechargeble batteries they last a few days.
The graphics are fantastic (if the right games are played). Gears of War, Dead Space, Mass Effect, etc. And the sound is awesome.
I've gotten some great use out of this console and my experiences were all positive until a few days ago. I've used this system for just over 2 years and it finally broke!
It's called the "Red Ring of Death". I think every XBox will eventually get one that was manufactured in the last two yeras. I waited until AFTER first launch and until they worked some bugs out to buy this system. And it just stopped working...
I am VERY upset by this and very let down. As I have friends who bought a PS3 and are still enjoying it today...
I did check the Microsoft website and they are covering my repairs under warranty. But I'm out of an XBox for atleast a few weeks while it gets shipped to Texas for repairs.
And I'm reading reviews of problems after thier consoles have been repaired. I am not happy with Microsoft or the XBox right now.
If I knew they would produce an expensive product that simply shorts out after 2 years of safe and moderate use, I would have bought the Sony PS3 instead.

3 Rings of Death - not once, but TWICE

Got the 3 Rings after less than a year worth of use.
Microsoft covers that error for three years, but it was nearly a month-long wait for the return. Then, after 6 months use, it got the error again. This time, they wouldn't cover it because it was a week past the 3 year period - they count it from the date the xbox was built. Ugh. Waste of money.
If you're going to get an xbox, might as well get one from a kid who's already repaired one (or who can) and get ixtreme 1.6 on it to get your money's worth with some copied games.
Screw the bad engineering on the 360's.

Why would anyone see the value in purchasing an XBOX:
You can't upgrade the hard drive...most XBOX consoles don't come with hard drives.
There is no built in wi-fi...it will cost you $99.
You must pay for online service if you don't want to get bombarded with ads...it will cost you $50 annually.
You can't watch high definition blu-ray movies on it.
The games are limited to the size of a DVD at 9gb...the PS3 can store 50gb on the blu-ray disc.
The controllers are infrared...ancient technology and takes batteries....it will cost you to constantly replace the batteries.
The Jasper is still plagued by the constant failure of the RROD...plan on sending your unit in for constant repairs/replacements...the XBOX has overt a 50% failure rate.
For $299 you are getting ripped off.....you are paying for far less features....It's like you're paying them to rip you off, you might as well buy them the Vaseline while you're at it.
BUY A PS3 INSTEAD...and thank everyone who told you too.
You'll get FREE Blu-Ray capabilities right out of the box.
Upgrade the hard drive to any size you like...I put a 500gb in mine.
The controllers are much better and actually fit in your hands AND you don't have to replace the internal batteries.
The controllers and all other accessories communicate via blue-tooth....MODERN technology.
FREE online gaming with NO ADS.
FREE wifi capabilities right out of the box.
The first party games are leaps and bounds better than anything the XBOX can produce because the developers aren't limited by the older DVD technology.
The PS3 was built for the future...you won't have to buy another console years down the road.
I've found so much value in the PS3.....I've bought two...one for the bedroom....one for the living room.
If you make the mistake and buy an XBOX you CAN'T play Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid, Eye Pet, God of War, Gran Turismo, Heavenly Sword, Heavy Rain, Agent, Infamous, Katamari Forever, Killzone, MAG, Socom, Motorstorm, ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, Twisted Metal, Warhawk, AND numerous other exclusives to the PS3. |

| Outdated price I was looking for a cheaper price on Xbox 360s here at Amazon but they are $100 plus over most other places. this one is for instance is $200 over the same system bundled with RE5. |
